  • Roll Call Sunday 1-20-8!!!

    I hope everyone is having a better weekend than I am!

    I'm getting very discouraged... I know Atkins is the right way to get healthy and lose weight... but I've floated around the same numbers ( 166-168 ) for 20 days now.

    I need some motivation... I think I'm going to just stop baking stuff and stop mixing a bunch of ingredients to make a "dish" - and I'm just going to stick to basic foods all together...

    I really don't like how hard it is for me this time... but I'm not going anywhere. If a plateau doesn't feel as bad as eating carbage... and the guilt thereafter...

    Good morning! Think of Evermind for inspiration. She was stalled forever, but was persistant and now she's losing again. I think getting back to basics is probably a good idea.

    Well it's 10F (-12.22C) and dh out using his snowblower. Tomorrow is my birthday and I told dh to take the kids out shopping for a present while the Y is still open, so I can have some "me" time there! LOL!

    Stay warm. Doesn't such a cold day beg for comfort food? Something meaty and substantial. No steak salads today. Maybe chili or stew or beef stroganoff. Or soup. I haven't made soup in ages.

      Good Morning Stacers!

      It's a beautiful sunny day here despite the temp of 3! Hoping all our Southern members are safe. I'm sitting here enjoying my coffee & browsing ADBB. My cat Willow has joined me & is sleeping on the computer desk. She gives affection on her terms so I'm feeling loved right now!!

      plsmachic just some thoughts but did you have a clean 14 day induction? What rung are you on? Have you posted any menus & asked for suggestions? I think I would cut out the cheesecakes & other baked goods for now.

          Stopping in this morning.

          Plsmachic - I know you you feel. I have always been a SLOW loser. The first time around for me It took me from may to September to lose 20 pounds. I have decided this time to try fit day but I am wondering how that works when you use recipes. I guess you have to figure out the whole thing then divide it? Anyway - don't give up. Even though the scale is not moving down - it's not moving up either. Have you done your meaurements? That might give you the inspiration you need.

            Pls - I was stuck around the same weight for at least 1-2 months with no serious movement... changed nothing and now I have lost another pound bringing me almost to the 140's (weighed in at 150 this morning!) Take measurements.... I haven't done that again but plan on it. Don't worry - stick with it and you will see success in scale movement!!

            So - good morning everyone!! I've lost another pound... so I'm excited - I needed to see movement as like others I was getting discouraged and a slice of pizza wasn't looking so bad. Well now I'm thrilled I didn't give in as I can see the end of Goal #1 - it's only 10 lbs away!!! After that it's only 30 more pounds! And that's right I am stating it as ONLY because I know I can do it. That would put me at 110 and I can't tell you the last time I was there (actually I can but we won't discuss that )

            So I'm having a good morning - still need to let everyone out and check on everyone... then I can stay inside for awhile and get ready for some FOOTBALL!!!! My husband even took and earlier shift so he can watch the packers game with me We just want to see them play in -10 degrees and be thankful we have a fire going!!

              Weighed in at 122 this morning.

              I think that you can't go wrong by going with the basics. I have never been a good cook, and don't really enjoy it. Embracing Atkins was a big change for me, because I was the queen of convenience foods, and never ate vegetables. So, going basic was the obvious choice for me, since I didn't know how to cook. It has worked well.

              One of my goals for 2008 is to learn how to cook a few more things. Not goodies, though... I know that I don't have control with them, even now, in Maintenance. It is a sickness with me, and I can't flirt with that disaster.

              Hey, slow losers - chin up! This is a way of life, now. Don't get stressed about slow numbers - they add up! Enjoy all of the other perks about this amazing WOE/L.

                grumbles - I was hoping i would be able to change my ticker this morning but sighs its not to be so.... I may be paying for the "rootbeer float and the black cherry float" i had yesterday, i found these sugar free jones sodas in black cherry no aparatame only splenda, but it could also be i drank 140 oz of water yesterday too and ate more than usual (which i normally do even if i don't go over on carbs). So oe more day working on my journey. My trip to Jamaica will occur around the last 2 weeks of December... ACK! lol i want to be at goal and looking well and fit for the 8 ds i will have the ocean and beach at my disposal.

                  Weighed in the morn at 113 - not too shabby Yesterday, I didn't go to the gym - I went to the movies with my 13 year old, who treated me to Cloverfield - great movie, was a really good time Then, my hubby, who is super stressed out, was given a kid free afternoon - I took the chitlins to the mall and he went to get a massage. Was a nice afternoon for all...

                  It's so cold here today, biting, fridgid cold - YUCK!

                  I'm going to the gym in a few to run and get in some upper body resistance.

                  Pls- I'ma super slow loser, which totally sucks!!! I have noticed though, that if I stop being creative in my cooking, and eat "cleaner", it usually helps - it did this last stall I went through. Just keep on keeping on - you know you can do this!

                  Chica - congrats on your loss!!

                      hello hello everyone. i just got back from my morning socials .....and i walked for 100 minutes this morning around a town called clark, nj!! i was gonna go to walkjogrun.net to calculate my miles. i ate pretty out-of-line last night ....so i must be punished i suppose LOL....no way am i getting on a scale until next weekend!!

                        Well, I'm here....finally got everything worked out and actually managed to get a free treadmill and exercise bike off freecycle!!! I've been cleaning and moving stuff around trying to get things organized and convenient to exercise. (the deep cleaning and moving furniture around is more exercise than I've been doing lately!) I finally braved the scales and since starting induction have lost 10 lbs exactly! I've been avoiding the scales afraid of what they would say, because I haven't gotten totally off the Dt Mt Dew yet and since I'm still drinking those of course I haven't made my water goal about 3 days this week. My blood sugars have improved quite a bit and I am feeling better already. I'm remembering why I enjoyed this WOE before-having fun cooking good for me food and DH is enjoying the fact that I'm cooking more! LOL, he has to have a baked potato on the side of course, but whatever! I'm off to the grocery and to get an extension cord for the treadmill because of course where I decided to place it is too far from the plug! Have a good day everyone, and thanks for still being here

                          Hiya, everyone!

                          Yesterday, dh and I went for a 5-mile hike with HopeJoy and HER dh. Wonderful weather, wonderful company, wonderful views. It was really delicious. Then we stopped at the grocery store and came home. I took a long soak in the tub, and afterwards we had another relaxing evening together. I feel like my batteries are getting an extra charge.

                          Today I'm wearing a long-sleeved shirt that, two weeks ago, was too tight in the arms and the belly. Ya hoo!!!!!!!

                          Busier day today. Dh is going to work. I've got some errands to run and a Barack Obama house party to attend in the afternoon. Then I plan to get some work done on my thesis. Don't know whether I'll take a run later or have this be my rest day. Probably the latter. I have worked out every day since last Sunday.

                            It's pretty darn cold today...minus 39 celsius with the wind. I've been productive today with making chicken broth, chicken salad, cutting up a whole lot of veggies and hard boiling some eggs. I am up half a pound from my ticker but I blame that on TOM.

                              Hi, everybody! Glad to see we're all making it through the weekend. It's a little chilly here in Florida, but sunny and bright.

                              Went out to dinner with my DH for our anniversary last night and had this fantastic dinner of filet mignon in a Mexicana sauce which was simply stewed tomatoes, onions and peppers with spices. It was DELICIOUS and legal. Salad with guacamole too. I love guacamole.
