  • Slipped off the wagon...

...well actually tumbled off the wagon to my demise on the rocks below. Man, if I cheat one little bit, it is all over for me. Death by popcorn. It started with a little swipe off the top of a chocolate cake. Next thing you know, two bags of popcorn, a dozen or so milkduds and six chocolate covered cherries later, I'm kicking myself. I have noticed this about me. If I am alone, I will cheat. If I am out and about with others, I am stubborn and have all kinds of sticktoitiveness. What up with that? I'm going skiing later today so that should help me burn some of those carbs which I can feel coagulating as I type. Ugh. I'm really upset with me.

      Re: Slipped off the wagon...

      Thanks Catherine!
It'd be great if you could put some big knots in it, then toss me down a nice muscley pair of legs and perhaps some chiseled arms so I could climb the ding-danged thing, otherwise probably I'll just sit on the last knot and swing... Today, my goal is to drag myself up to the next to the bottom knot and knot (get it?) let go...

I really do appreciate the support. Sometimes I act like I've got it together, but really every day its a struggle for me (sniff). It's nice to know someone is willing to toss you a rope (sniff, sniff). Thanks again... -- twink...

No problem Twink...Actually I'll throw a LADDER down the side of the wagon and you can take it one RUNG at a time ....seriously, I know just how you feel...this time is #3 for me and I'm determined to accept that this WOE is the only way for me. The physical benefits are nearly immediate - scale, not so much and that's HARD. You can do this - really you CAN...in fact YOU ARE DOING THIS!!! YAY!!!

          Re: Slipped off the wagon...

I know exactly what you mean. I am so much more likely to cheat if I am by myself than if I am with someone. It is like I am sneaking it in. If someone is there than I don't want to look like a loser or a quitter by giving in...I want to look strong for not giving in. Must be a pride thing...for me at least! Also I know they just one bite thing is the kiss of the devil for me...I just can't do it or I know I will be having major cravings that I will most definately give in again....so no more just one little bites.
Just know you are not the only one and the best thing is , is that the wagon doesn't move without you! Jump back on and grab those reigns...You can do it!

                  Re: Slipped off the wagon...

Well, returned home from skiing, naturally in the lodge I did not have one fry, nary an onion ring, no hot chocolate, just a lonely little weiner, no bun. Got home, brushed right past the chocolate covered cherries (only four left) -- they were a Christmas gift -- and headed straight for the computer. You all inspire me. I had my eight year old throw out the leftover cake. Out-out, not just under the sink. She thinks I'm insane. I could care less as long as I'm thin-crazy! Thanks again everyone, I did well today, thanks to you.

twink - I can so relate! If I cheat, it's a free for all fall! Those sugars, bad carbs get into my system and get me wanting more. I threw out my chocolate covered cherries after xmas by the way....

Glad you popped in to share your feelings, you are not alone in this!!
