    Hi Robin,

My trainer once told me something that makes sense, breakfast is basically the breaking of a fast, when you go to sleep your body slows down metabolizing food etc, so she said you want to start your "engine" as soon as possible after you get up because if you don't it will take a while to recognize you are ready to begin!!!

So i would recommend eating something even if its small egg or something within an hour of getting up... for every hour you don't eat, she stated its an hour you are losing burning fat at your optimal level.

Dr A said you should never go that long without eating. Always eat breakfast...even a lil cheese or something, just to get started. I stock the fridge at work with precooked foods and eggs so i can have mock danishes or some eggs and sausage or something when i get here.

Just to let you know lol, Jillian from the biggest loser just talked about breakfast, she said when you don't have breakfast you keep your body in a state of fasting and your metabolism slows down and you burn less calories in a day than if you simply have something for breakfast.

Great advice here, and of course they say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day...."break-fast" is all about breaking the fast and engaging the metabolism...small meals through out the day to follow breaking the fast will keep the metabolism stoked all day long!

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, no matter which diet you're on! It sets the pattern for the rest of the day, and gives you the energy that you need. This is coming from a person, who rarely ate breakfast, and when I did, it was more of a quick fix, and high carb content. Since starting Atkins, 3 years ago, I still always eat a balanced breakfast, gives me the early morning energy that I need.
