  • Frustrated..

Ugh.. well I went back to 130, and I can't seem to get the scale to move again. My usual breakfast is either 1/2 a cup of pumpkin with a tablespoon of cream, or two fried eggs with cheese and a glass of water. For lunch I have salad with grilled chicken and ranch dressing, and for dinner it's some type of meat and veg. I'm not going over the 20 carbs a day, and I don't drink anything but water.

I don't even think I've lost any inches because my clothes feel the same. This ALWAYS happens when I'm at 130. I was doing to 127 and so happy.. what the heck is going on??

I would say water weight fluctuation. If you only have 9lbs to go it's going to be a slower journey there from now on.
Hang in there, give it time

Also remember you gotta change it up. You have pumkin for breakfast every morning. It could be a problem food for you. Try to cut it out for a week or two. Also cream stalls some people. How much are you exercising? Have you considered moving to OWL?

Well I usually switch it up from eggs. Like, this morning I had pumpkin but I was having eggs for the past week..

I'll try cutting it out completely.

That doesn't sound like nearly enough salad greens.

What are you doing, induction? Gotta have 2 cups plus another cup of a different veg.

          What's your workout like?

            Re: Frustrated..

I do twenty minutes of pushups, situps, leg lifts, that sort of thing. Things I can do in my office because I have no time the rest of the day.

And yeah, I'll bet you I'm not getting enough salad greens.

              Re: Frustrated..

I was going to say not enough salad greens too! I had a problem with pumpkin and had to cut it out completely. So sad cause it was SO GOOD!

Take it from me - the less you have to lose, the slower it comes off -I am always up, down, up, down and am hovering around 113 - my goal is 110. It's been this way for what seems like forever. I guess eventually, I'll get there

I know it's super frustrating - hang in there!

Yeah, no more pumpkin for me I guess. Or cream, just to be on the safe side.

                  DoD,
I am completely in the same boat. I started at 136 and got down to 126 was SOOO excited. I too am back up to 130 and the d*mn scale won't move! Additionally I've started excercising daily...so you would think poof it would start to go again. It makes me insane and I keep trying to figure out "What am I doing wrong?" I think for me it's not pushing enough liquids...but it's almost my time of the month too. So I'm sure that can effect when you are holding on to water weight.
Because our stats are so similar I read a lot of your posts. Don't give up...you never know that YOU might be inspiring other people. :<)

                    Re: Frustrated..

                    HI Ladies,

Okay I am going to say this because it may not be something people actually consider, while losing weight to an ideal number is awesome, sometimes especially as you get older your body will not let you get to that number. For example, I am 5'10, i was athletic for most of my teens and 20's. I know a couple women who were the same way and gained weight with more than 30 lbs to lose not only on here but a few friends of mine who have lost weight great!! and then they hit the 170 mark, and while they will fluctuate down to 165 they always pop back into the 170's no matter how hard they try to maintain the 160s and lose that last 10 lbs. I think Joy on here has that issue a lot and 2 other girlfriends of mine did also, and when i was that thin, i rarely was able to stay under 165 and always fluctuated between 165 and 175 and that was when i was continuously thin after HS as i didn't start gaining all this weight until my late 20's.

Maybe its time to put the scale away and simply work on toning and not worry about the scale, because you don't want to spend the rest of your life fighting for those 5 or 10 lbs that your body actually may not allow you to see on the # on the scale because of being a human body that is continuously changing and shows in the fluctuating numbers - you see it in the difference between the #'s in the morning versus at night.

I noticed you are also looking at your BMI, if you are exercising and/or weights also, have you had that checked? Have you had your body fat percentage checked? If you eat healthy and work out etc, your body will stablize at what it is comfortable with, and as you continue to eat healthy and work out, it may actually give you those last 10 lbs but it won't show on the scale, it will show in yoru health, in your body fat % in your BMI, in your nice small compact body. Not sure if this makes sense. You may not even need to lose 10 more POUNDS of fat, but instead have 10 lbs of muscle that replaced it.

I know its one of the hardest things to do, but sometimes you have to kick the scale to the curb because its numbers will continuously fluctuate on you and drive you nuts.

Perhaps with these last 10 lbs you need to change your goal from the number on a scale to perhaps a size of clothes or concentrate on your BMI or Body fat %, because if you do tone and exercise beyond cardio, your body will weigh more, but be more smaller and compact than perhaps what the scale tells you.

Not sure if this is what you wanted to hear, but you may actually be thinner and smaller than what the scale indicates you are.

Thing is, I'm 5'1" and I -know- I shouldn't be this big. I have belly and thigh fat that needs to go, so it isn't as if I'm fighting stuff that isn't there. I know I have at least 5-10lbs of fat that I want to get rid of, and while I exersize, it just doesn't feel like it's enough.

Hi, i know what you are saying but what i am saying is that fat you are speaking about isn't necessarily #'s on the scale, that is why i am saying perhaps its time to ignore the scale and concentrate more on say body fat %, because if that goes down, the scale may not move but your % might etc.

In the end, you will do what is best for you as only you know the situation. I just was giving my observation based on what i have seen with others. Good luck.
