  • Friday Roll Call 1/25/08

    Up waaaaay earlier than i'd like to be this morning..had to drive dh to work, we're heading to the cottage this afternoon so I'll pick him up later and we'll head straight up from his work....

    I'm having a 'thin day' today! Finally! after weeks of 'fat days' LOL....

    This will be the first weekend at the cottage since getting back on track after new years, will get in lots of xcountry skiing I hope, and we'll have to shovel our way in for a couple of hours when we get there..so lots of winter exercise!

    I'm glad it is Friday! It has been a long week for me. It is only 0640 & I've already had a core meltdown & snapped at DH for no reason. I'm not in a good spot today. Still on plan so I'm grateful that I haven't turned to food as I would in the past. Having a strange TOM this month which is kinda freakin me out. Sorry for the negativity but that is where I'm at today. Any good vibes sent would be wonderful!

      I had some TOM issues as well on this woe at the beginning, but they did work themselves out. as for the PMS moodiness..have you tried Evening primrose oil? I do it does help me get thru my crankiness. I try to take it all month.

      Take a deep breath....maybe a quiet moment to yourself if you can to try of 'unwind'.

      I know how frustrating it is trying to send happy thoughts your way!

        Im up too, my puppy Bailey is "turbo" this morning....she had a poo in her crate, and I think she's been really fired up since then....Now shes trying to nurse the corner of my bluejean's hem....I video'd her and she will have her own YouTube presentation soon! So many friends want to see her.
        Working on getting my food a bit more organized for the weekend....Maintaining is HARD WORK...so different than auto-pilot...

          Glenda, I hope you feel better soon.
          So glad it's Friday. Another not-so-great week at work. The highlight of each workday this week was lunch, which was exceptionally good every day!!

            i am awake and reporting in today. wearing a cowboy hat and a bolo....lol, one of the employees in my office is moving to texas.

            i havent done any exercise yet today.....maybe i will walk during lunch and then go the the gym after work.

              I'M HERE!!!

              I drove 6+ hours yesterday round trip to get the goats - and I got 3. They are for meat and dairy so we are excited as they are due to have babies soon by the looks of them.

              Then I had made partytrouble's pork taco meat thing in the crockpot for dinner... but husband decided he wanted to go out for mexican and considering we NEVER just go out I jumped at it. I had my 1st alcohol since I started - vodka and diet coke. Ok - I had 3... but I completely skipped that rung and I wanted to forget working and stuff for a lil bit (didn't work)....

              No gain this morning which kinda shocked me as I know I ate a TON of sodium yesterday and was anticipating a water weight gain.

              I got pulled over yesterday and I have to look some stuff up... but it had to do with the inspection of our trailer. We were told something completely different from the DMV than the policeman who was laughing at me yesterday cause I thanked him for the ticket. He told me I must be in customer service or something because he never gets thanked... LOL...guess it's just my personality and an instant response. So I go and get the trailer checked out this morning because I need it on Monday again and knowing my luck I'd get another ticket. The ticket itself only $30... but the PROCESSING FEES are $61!!! What a crock.... but at least I wasn't speeding which is what my husband's first reaction was!! Like it's easy to go super fast with a 3000lb trailer behind you.

              Oh well - so I'm stocked for food since we didn't eat the meat last night I can have it on salad and so much more over the weekend Even wrapped up in my tortillas I just got in from netrition. Got in almond flour so I can make mini chocolate chip cookies - I want the kids to try them - hey sugar free wouldn't hurt them a little!! Of course if the dough tastes good I might just make dough balls and stick them in the freezer!! I love cookie dough and it would be a good "fix" when needed.

                I am awake and the scale is down again...not quite yet down to my lowest on this WOE but it sure is nice to see it getting back there. This weekend i will not be online or able to check in and i can honestly say that i will likely stray from plan although not too far. My favorite band is in town and they will performing two nights +1 after party. I got a room downtown and all my friends are going to be down there. The good news is we are talking several hours of dancing both nights. The bad news, alcohol will prolly be in the picture. But my plan is to stick to liquor with no carb mixers. The dancing should burn of what i drink, i am more worried about not being able to cook on Saturday. But regardless, i know that this is going to be a great weekend and that hopping back on plan on Sunday will happen. BF is copping a bit of an attitude with me since last night so i hope he drops it and we can have fun together tonight.

                  Morning, all.

                  Well, my super-long day went off without a hitch.

                  Taught all day, zipped up to the U, met with professor, went out to eat with dh (sooo nice!) then zipped back to the U for my class, which got out early BEFORE 8:30, so we were able to come home, take a bath, and get in bed by 9:36. Wa hoo!

                  Today I will be going to the gym and hopefully also getting a run in. During my month-long vacation I got into the groove of an a.m. run plus a p.m. workout, and now that I can't do it, my body is telling me it misses it!

                  I've been drinking a ton of water and I'm very water-logged -retaining like crazy, which is odd since I don't consume much salty food. So, the scale says 200 again, but I don't count it. Sooner or later it will all flow out, leaving me leaner and feeling less puffy!

                  I'm soooo looking forward to the weekend!

                    I'm so happy it's Friday! I need to cook up a storm this weekend so I have food for next week. TOM is gone and I am still at my ticker weight (I though a two pound drop seemed like a lot in one day) but it is legit. Makes me very happy...170's here I come!

                        Good morning everyone. It is rainy and dreary here today. At least it didn't freeze last night like they were saying it was going to. I really hate this time of year. Wish I could crawl into a cave into spring.

                          Good morning, all! Have been really busy and haven't had much time to post. Yesterday, we went to get a new Sienna minivan. While getting a new vehicle is almost always exciting, the reason we got it is a little sobering. My mil's left knee has almost deteoriated beyond use. We are going to need to get her one of those little scooters that you can use indoors or outdoors and it won't fit in our RAV4. So, we had to get something that would fit the scooter as well as groceries and things. I really like the van, but would rather my mil could get around better. The whole thing is just really depressing to her since she's always been very independent. If you can, keep her in your thoughts!

                            Good Morning all,

                            Jen, what a wonderful cottage you have. Great to have a place away from home to go to for the weekend. Take a breaks when your shoveling & have fun.

                            We have a busy weekend coming up. Tonight a dinner, & tomorrow a Bingo Fundraiser, and there will be lots of munchies & desserts. I bought a jicama, and will cut that up, along with some cheese & celery, that will be my munchies & dessert. On Sunday if the weather permits, we'll drive up to Banff (in the Rockies) it's only 1 1/2 hours from us, and spend the day up there! Have a great weekend everyone!

                              Hey all!

                              I'm on my way to Missoula today after school (for a workshop tomorrow morning), hoping to get an early start so I'm not driving through the mountains in the dark, and I'm HOPING there's no snow in the forecast! It's a 4+ hour drive. I've got lots of veggies packed for breakfast and lunch, dinner will be a Cobb salad (takeout). I'm going to try to go somewhere for a bacon/eggs type brekkie tomorrow, and I'm bringing veggies/cheese/nuts to the workshop just in case. Last time they ordered sandwiches from a place, I ordered a salad, and it was HORRIBLE--it was the shredded lettuce, tomato, and onions that goes on the sandwiches! This time I'll be prepared.

                              Lots of stuff to do today before I leave.
