  • I am finding it strange to eat fat.

I love the atkins woe, but I have been eating low fat for a long time. It has not helped me lose weight I may add. It just seems so strange to now eat butter, have olive oil, which I love and of course mayonaise, the real one not the awful extra light.

I know this woe works, but need to get into my mind that low fat is a thing of the past.

I know it is crazy to eat so much fat. I find that the more fat I eat, the more weight I loose.

Re: I am finding it strange to eat fat.

We have been so programmed as a culture over the last 20 years to believe that low fat is the "right way" and it's just completely bogus information. As a society we are fatter than ever thanks to 20+ years of low fat, high carb and added sugar eating.

      Fight the power!

You'll get used to it! I grew up eating margarine, with parents on Weight Watchers who bought low-fat everything. Now I can't even fathom what it would be like to go back to my "old ways"...I honestly wouldn't know what to eat! It's fat that keeps me satisfied and curbs my hunger.

Just remember that you are BURNING FAT for FUEL. Fat is our friend--it's what fuels our bodies and makes them work! Do not be afraid of fat.

I used to be the same way- a very conscientious fat gram counter! To help myself with getting over it I just don't compare nutrition facts like I used to for things like mayonnaise vs. low fat mayonnaise. Instead I just throw in the full fat one! For things that I need to look at the carb count I purposefully don't look at the fat grams. I wouldn't do it if I didn't have a vague idea already but it is helpful at first at least not to obsess over the fat!

When I do find myself having a problem with it I just remind myself that I feel and look better now than I ever did when I was religiously counting my fat grams and trying to be low fat.

It is amazing that eating more fat can help lose weight. It is hard not to look at fat content and calories, but I am doing my best. I know that after 10 days, I feel better than I have felt for months. Enjoying my food and have bought some gym equpment. A few weeks ago I was finding hard to walk very far, with out feeling very tired.

I felt the same way. Growing up we always had low fat stuff around that just tasted awful. I'm so happy that I can order the fat and eat it too! It tastes so yummy and I just feel so much better!

In terms of low-fat...for proof that it doesn't work just look around. Why is that everyone eats "low-fat" yet they are fatter than ever?

Enjoy the fat and you will get use to it. As others have said, the more fat I eat the more I lose.

I must admit I am feeling a bit nervous about weighing in on fri.

That is me using self control as I got into the habit of weighing myself every day. I hope evententually to cut back on weekly too.

I have eaten more fat as I knew I was not eating enough, but do not feel that I have lost weight this week. I do know that I feel wonderful, so I will keep going . I have never felt so motivated in years. This a wonderful place to be.

I agree! This is a wonderful place to be! I'm glad you feel wonderful!

Are you measuring yourself as well as weighing? I feel like I haven't lost lbs for a while but I know I am losing inches so I still feel happy about it!
