I'm sure someone has asked this already, but I couldn't find any posts. Is there any such thing as eating too much fat? I thought that the more fat that you ate, the more you were likely to lose? My fitday says that I eat 77% fat, 5% carbs, and 19% protein. I cut my protein intake in half before because I was afraid that the amount of protein was causing me to stall. I'm hoping to lose weight again since I've cut down on the protein.

Re: Can you eat too much fat??
Dr. Atkins says that people who are metabolically resistent can try a fat fast for 3 days. A fat fast is where you eat 1000 of almost ENTIRELY fat for 3 days to kick start the loss. We're talking pats of butter and stuff.
That should answer your question.
But here's more: most people will tell you that the more fat they eat, the faster they lose. When you hit a plateau, the first thing you should do is increase your fat intake.
And here's more: I eat very, very little meat. I think maybe once a week. So, my menu has a lot more protein coming from things like cheese and eggs. My fat intake is generally in the mid-80s, percentage wise. Never hurt me. Ever. And my cholesterol is very very low, triglycerides high.

Re: Can you eat too much fat??
Good to know that I'm doing something right Evermind! Wow! I didn't realize just how overboard I had went with the meat. Now I'm down to four small chicken tenders and two eggs a day. I may need to decrease it still, but I'm going to wait and see how my weightloss goes first. I had increased my fat intake to battle hunger when I got rid of some of the protein. I was worried because my percentages never add up to the guideline percentages for DANDR. Maybe now I'll start losing again!
