  • Roll Call 2/12

I feel like I've been up for hours, thinking in bed. Now i am up and moving about. Getting to feeling much better. I've riden my bike for the last 3 days and will head off to the gym early this morning....or that's the hope.
I've been in such a funk for so long. I keep moving myself back to the things that do WORK for me. Alot of good things are happening and then other things seem to linger in a depressing state....
But I have some great basics to keep me going!

    Exercise is my #1 basic
    ADBB is my #2 basic

Hope you all have a great day!

    Re: Roll Call 2/12

Good Morning Jess! Great job on the exercise. I had a dream last night that I was running, and in my dream I was saying to myself, "If you can do this, then who cares about anything else." I've always taken my physical ability for granted. I ran two marathons about 5-6 years ago, but since I was a back-of-the-packer, I always answered encouragement with "yeah, but... I'm so slow!" or "yeah, but... there are grandmothers who pass me!" But now I'm so fat that I literally cannot even walk up a flight of stairs without getting winded and feeling my heart in my chest. So... even if you feel like things aren't progressing, at least you're not stuck in such a bad place, right?

Morning Jess! Good to see you hanging in there and pressing on.

I've been in an energy slump the last two days. I think its more of a laziness feeling than anything for me. I'm making myself do what needs to be done even if I don't feel like it in hopes of conquering my laziness. I refuse to dwell in laziness!! It is supposed to be my easy rest week between my previous workout program and the one I'm about to start, but the workouts are actually quite challenging. I'm sore from doing YogaX and I can't even keep up with the rest week workouts that go along with the P90X program. Its a little discouraging. I'm more worried about what next week will bring than anything. If I can't do the rest week portion all the way through, how am I going to handle the main workouts? I'm wondering if maybe I bit off more than I could chew! Either way, I'm going to give it a shot and do the best that I can! On the bright side, my eating has been legal!

        Re: Roll Call 2/12

I'm here checking in for the day! We had a snow/ice storm so school is cancelled for the kiddies, took DH 45 mins to de-ice his truck and another 30 to get out of the drive. There's a good inch of ice on top of about 4 inches of snow, so I'm staying in today! It's really pretty to look at though-the trees are just shining! I'll try to take pics later when the sun comes up and I take the puppy potty.

My plan for the day-get at least 100 oz in, 30 mins x 2 on the recumbent.

Reporting back that I did a huge workout at the gym. 20min elliptical and then weightlifting, and of course now I've taxed everything to the point where I can barely lift my arms to write! But I did it!!!!

i am here and have been awake since 430am. did a pretty decent workout myself this morning, its in my journal chat. worked up a sweat because i kept moving between sets with little rest. i am moving in on my goals this month pretty well......almost at the halfway mark for pushups and beyond the halfway mark for abs. i am gonna really focus on eating better as recently.....i have let some things get a little out of hand. my exercise has grounded me and prevented me from gaining at least. i just have to get the eating puzzle peices into the right places. its tuesday now and i am predicting i will be under 242 by next sunday the 17th....maybe nder 240

                Re: Roll Call 2/12

                Good morning!

Bought some new jeans last night. They're lower rise than what I'm used to, so I had to buy new underwear to go with them! LOL! Who knew that there were so many underwear choices? Low rise in the back so you can show off your butt crack? Who knew? LOL!

Well, I haven't heard back from the belly dance instructor so I just emailed her again. I also haven't heard back from the liquid splenda woman and I think she's gone out of business, so I'll need to call my credit card. If anyone has a reliable supplier, let me know.

School is back in session today and my dd's fever is gone, so I'm off to work today. Gotta go make my breakfast and lunch.

                Have a great day.

I had a really hard time staying on track this week, I think a lot of it had to do with this ice/snow cold as heck weather!! But all in all.. I lost 3lbs so I can't be mad at that! My goal for today is to stay on track with my food and drink plenty of water! I can't wait to start seeing some results!

                    Re: Roll Call 2/12

Morning everyone! I'm up. Had a great dinner last night and ate legal. I am seriously considering a new scale. Last night BEFORE DINNER (after a long day) I jumped on the scale for the fun of it - and I think out of habit - and it read 147. That'd be GREAT if it was anywhere close to that this morning (even reading in at 149 would have been ok because I'd trust it more). I was off and on that scale for about 15 minutes before my husband told me to get my butt in the shower cause I was wasting water - LOL.

So today I take the kids bowling. I still need to figure out if I will join the local gym - money is so tight now it's a debate for me to even bring it up. Of course in the spring when I don't NEED a gym as much because I'm outside 95% of the time (I usually lose 5-10 lbs automatically in the spring & summer just from working outside) is when the money is actually here. So we'll see...

Sheepie - what about sweetzfree.com ?? you can order anytime now and I got it in a couple of days.

I'm still on track, but in a terrible fog lately. I'm worried that might suffer from some kind of seasonal depression...I just have no motivation to do anything. My house is becoming a mess, I can't get motivated to exercise, i can't even be bothered cooking. I can't get up in the mornings either. Not sure what to do about it at this point...I think the lack of sunshine here, the fridgid temps and all the snow is a big part of it. Doesn't help that i work from home so i feel cooped up. I'm not big on seeing my dr. for things like this..but i think i might have too....

sorry for the depressing vent LOL.

                          Re: Roll Call 2/12

                          Morning, everyone!

Well, I did NOT want to wake up when the alarm went off, and I plastered myself to DH and whined a lot. But my bladder said "get up! getupgetupgetupNOW!" so, I did. Thus, here I am.

It's a Tuesday on a four-day workweek, so I'll be half-way there at the end of today - whoo hoo! My students brought (I think) drywall paste instead of brains yesterday, which made the day incredibly long for me, and really forced me to change all of my lesson plans mid-stream. Hopefully, they'll bring the brains today.

Last night I did a great legs and abs workout, which was so awfully painful and tough that I almost gave up toward the end, but didn't. Isn't it weird how some days it seems easier than others, but you can't find a reason? I hadn't done any running or anything strenuous with my legs, but man, when I hit those wall sits and lunges, I thought I was gonna DIE!

Today after school I'll take dh to work (2d job) and go to the chiropractor and then hit the gym again. Just cardio today - I'm committing to 45 min. Hold me to it!

Sadie - definately see your doctor. No reason for you to suffer from the lack of sunshine and being cooped up. Next, go get yourself a team of sled dogs and start training for an iditarod or something -that'll get you out of the house! <grin> Seriously, hang in there, but don't do it alone.

Jess - just keep on keepin' on, girl. These are the times that count. The easy, smooth times are the reward and sometimes we're going to hit these patches where it's slog, work, slog, eyes on the prize, just keep on going.

Tape Measure: I've lost 42.5 inches as of 3/15/2008

                          Mini goals:

Morning everyone! WOW! I didn't log in until I got to work, and I feel all behind schedule in the good morning's department - two pages already! =)

Today is Day 3 and I'm feeling pretty good. Extremely sluggish and tired but it has zero to do with the WOE. I didn't roll into bed until around 12:30 and my insomnia wasn't helping. Then at 2:30am we had the CRAZIEST thunderstorm I've seen yet since I moved to Dallas and it lasted about another two hours!

Hope everyone here has a good day and you all reminded me to bump up my exercise - I did NOTHING yesterday. Unacceptable! =)
