I'd say this is maybe my third time around. First time around I did great. Second time I gave up because I wasn't losing any weight. I did induction again the past couple of weeks, I read the book again, measured my veggies, just did everything I was supposed to do and I lost nothing. Any other second timers had this problem? What did you do? I don't know if maybe I should take out a cup of greens or salad fixins? I'm really frustrated.

Re: Not losing help!
You need to post your menu, that way we can see if there are anything sneaking in on you. Also, are you drinking plenty of water? Getting any exercise? How much older are you than you were the last time you did Atkins? I know now that I am older, it is coming off slower. Just post us your menu and exercise and we will check it out!

Re: Not losing help!
Thanks for the reply. I'm doing it EXACTLY the same way I did it 4 years ago and it's not working this time. I didn't have to excercise last time and I lost 25 pounds in two months, not that I sit around all day. I can't understand why I've been so strict and I lost nothing.
Breakfast-3 egg omelette with one slice chedder cheese, not processed
lunch-leftover meat from dinner or tuna, cup of mixed salad.
dinner-meat of some kind unprocessed, cup of mixed salad, cup of green and red peppers, oil and vinegar for dressing.
lots of water
If anyone has had a similar problem with induction, I would like to hear from you.

Re: Not losing help!
Agreed. You have to post a menu. Post an example of what you eat over several days.
Have you measured? Lost any inches?
How much are you trying to lose overall?

Re: Not losing help!
Second time around was difficult for me also. The 1st time on Atkins, I didn't have to exercise either. This time around I HAVE to.
Your body may be onto you - might know you're trying to "trick" it. Seriously throw some exercise into the mix - drink a bunch of water (this I didn't do either the 1st time around), watch your artificial sweetners (again, the 1st time around, I didn't do this)
My body is more sensitive to the things I feed it this time -It's frustrating. Tweak your menu/lifestyle(exercise) and see what happens - I bet you'll be happy with the results
Best of luck to you!

take progress pictures, do measurements.
Your calories seem like they might be a bit low, are you using fitday to track your eating?Ron, 38 y/o Male 5'11"My WOE blog: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...2&page=1&pp=10

Re: Not losing help!
You must have been posting your menu while I was typing my reply!
I don't think you are eating enough. Add a fatty snack mid-morning and mid-afternoon.
How much do you want to lose, total?
And guess what? Exercise is non-negotiable. It really is. And boy does it help.........I know, I didn't exercise like this in past times, and still lost weight, but you cannot rely on that.....

Re: Not losing help!
Thanks for all the replies and help. Guess I have to increase my excercise. I figured maybe I would lose weight slower, but didn't count on nothing at all, no inches, nothing. I've been so strict and I'm very badly frustrated, I just don't understand why it's not working this time. If I could lose 15 to 20 pounds, that would be good, I would like to get back to where I was. OK, I'm done whining, I'll increase the excercise.

Re: Not losing help!
Don't ignore the advice about eating more either. Eating less does not necessarily mean losing more. I ran your menu through Fitday, guessing at amounts. I guessed a 6.5oz can of tuna for lunch, 6oz ground beef for dinner, so I was fairly generous, and it only came to around 1000 calories. That's not a lot. You need to eat to at least your BMR, probably a little more. I don't know what weight you currently are, but it's easy to calculate your BMR, just do a search in Google.
Also, make sure you are getting enough fat in your diet. I don't know if you use Fitday, but it does help to get you into the swing of making sure you are eating enough and especially eating enough fat.Kate

Re: Not losing help!
First thing I noticed was no fats. Gotta have fats
This is my third time around and the weight is coming off. I dunno if you call it fast or slow.. having a lot of weight to lose, it seems to come off really fast at first. I'm just taking it day by day.

Re: Not losing help!
I also didnt exercise much the first few months of atkins last time around and it fell off, however, not so lucky this time. I agree that your body can learn those tricks and become resistant. Up your fats, eat a little something in between meals if only a boiled egg or something to keep metabolism up and exercise.
That should do it!!!Mindy

Re: Not losing help!
Well, I've increased excercise, increased fat, I'm doing everything I'm supposed to be doing and I am still not losing any weight. I actually gained 2 pounds since I started. Has anyone tried the fat fast? I might have to give that a try, something's gotta give here. I really don't want to go back to Weight Watchers. I hate low fat.
