Happy Tues STACers. Another day to resume our focus. I remember being here last year, and being so organized and fired up. I was also in a huge crisis and full of tons of fear about my mother's future...But daily I ate right on plan. I never skipped a beat in the toughest times of my life.
I had carved out a way of eating and exercise that was transforming my life.
I reflect there, seeking to make keep those very plates of success spinning.
It's a long journey, and yet sticking to the most basic things that really work for our bodies is a key thing we just can't afford to put down and forget today.

Hold on to the most basic thing that helps you make it on a low carb day. Don't forget it, don't leave it behind and keep it central to your focus.
That's where my head is today, WHERE IS YOUR HEAD?

    Re: Roll CAll 2/19

    Morning!

My head is screwed right here on top of my neck. I am focussed but it isn't at the forefront of my mind anymore - it's become so much a part of me to exercise and eat right that I rarely think about it - sort of like breathing. The only foods I want are the ones I can eat, and the only ones I eat are the ones I want. Exercise is no longer a choice, but a necessity, sort of like taking a bath or shower every day, or going to bed at a normal time.

Sure, there are days when I'm tempted. On Valentine's Day, I was tempted by a piece of chocolate. And it was a struggle. But one that, even in the midst of it, I knew I would overcome. And some days I'm tempted to skip working out, even if it's not a rest day. But paying for a trainer once a week makes me not want to miss any other days of the workout week, because....well, what a waste.

Today is a looong day for me. I have a class tonight until 8:15, so I'll have been going since 4:30 a.m. Eeek! Ah, well, I've done it before. And mostly it's just about listening or appearing to listen. Nobody expects me to contribute much, lol.

Keep your heads on straight. Focus on today - eat right today. Exercise today. Drink your water today. And breathe.

      Re: Roll CAll 2/19

My focus of today is water. I need to see if drinking more will help flush some of this extra fat out.

I bought a bikini today - eeekkkk..... I had to.... it was a complusion to spend my gift certificate LOL. I had to buy new bras too... apparently since the 1st time I had a kid (11 years ago) I have lost 2 inches from my chest area. I don't remember being a 34 since I was about 22... it gave me some cute options from Victoria's Secret!! I missed my cute printed bras. So since I don't really GO anywhere to show off my body - I decided I would get one of their mix and match sets and try it out. My old ones are too big now (YEEEEHAWWWW) and the butts were sagging so that is just not good enough for me. I got a medium.... can't tell you the last time I bought a medium. We'll see how it fits - the bottom is on backorder for a couple of weeks which is ok.

So that's my day so far Weighed in about .4 lbs less which is fine. I'm watching the body fat % now more than I thought I might.

I need to kick up the cardio. My knee slipped this morning so I didn't get on the treadmill. Heck I just need to do SOME cardio. I might try in a little bit to get on it and look at the programs I have that can go with it. I have IFIT programs and I think I have a beginner 5K program which might be good to start with (it's to get you started after being a couch potato)

I'm hoping the bathing suit will also help motivate me. It will fit - but the question will be to the vision of extra belly fat. I can FEEL ab muscles under there and the crunches prove that they are there.

Have a great legal day everyone! I've rambled enough!!

Good morning all - I'm here.

I'm going to try and make it to the gym today - no matter what.

I work until 3pm, pick up my son at 3:40. Go to my daughter's volleyball game at 4pm, come home and cook dinner, then go to the gym...

Let's see how that works out.

        Pray for me.

          Good Morning All:

Finally went to doctors to get something better than Advil for my knee (luckily its just pulled ligaments and not torn) still need to keep it elevated and ice down so exercising is still probably out other than upper body. Goal today is to keep eating on plan and no cheats!

Hope everyone has a breat ADBB day!

            morning all!

Still grumpy this morn... Up 4.5lbs - WTF? I began induction yesterday, felt pretty good about it and I gain weight? SO I took the spit test this morning and it looks like I might have a Candida overgrowth - OK, what now? I know to remove cheese, nuts, moldy, fermented foods from menu - no biggie - what else?
Kicked some bootie at the gym yesterday. Ran 2 iles, did 1.5 miles on the stairmaster (was 20min) and lower body resistance. Felt really good.
Going back this morning in a few - then I have a dentist appt! I love going to the dentist (seriously!)

Juli - Any info or advice on the candida crisis?

Hope everyone has a fab day!

Well, I'm here today, still kickin'.

Let me tell you, I have had cravings from HECK for the past week or so. I don't know what the heck my deal is, but I'm seriously drooling over all of these wierd foods that I haven't eaten in years and wouldn't ordinarily want to eat. It's frustrating.

On a more positive note, I've just started training for a half marathon! My good friend and I are going to do the half in Vancouver BC in May. Neither of us are "professionals" but want a challenge and like to run! So it works.

              Have a great day, all...

I did Plyo this morning and surprisingly enough, I could do it!! Obviously I don't have a problem doing cardio, but I sure wish I had the strength to do those pull-ups. I decided that on the days that I do strength training, that I will attempt a pull-up on my chin-up bar every time I walk through that door way. I'm kind of nervous about later today. I have a child support hearing for my two boys and I don't have anyone to watch my kids besides my grandfather. My grandmother is also having surgery to have a lump on her breast biopsied(sp.?). He will be picking my kids up on the way home from the hospital with her and I know she probably isn't going to feel like having the boys running around. Not only that, they've never watched my kids before(or any of their great-grand babies for that matter). I don't even think my grandfather has ever changed a diaper in his life. Hes one of those men that just don't mess with babies. I'm also afraid that one of their house dogs might bite one of my kids. I really don't want to go to the hearing or leave my kids.

Good morning. Not sure what's up with me. I would have cheated over the weekend, if I could have. I went grocery shopping last night and bought dreamfields low carb pasta, sugar fee jello, and sugar free Dove chocolate. Not cheating exactly, but definitely out of character for me. I'm feeling very rebellious. I think it's because it's February and winter and I'm so ready for a change.

                              Re: Roll CAll 2/19

Good Afternoon Everyone ........... I apologise for being so absent these days it's not because I don't want to check in, it's just because with my living situation change my computer time is very limited and checking in with challenges takes most of my time so journals and our daily check in has been left behind a bit. I'm so here with you all each and everyday in my heart!

I am still stuck right at the 175-180 range. I decided finally to go back to induction. I know last time we discussed it on this forum there was a lot of talk about if it was a good idea or not and through those discussions I decided not to do it. BUT it's been another almost 2 months now and I am still nowhere with my losses. So I am going back to the drawing board and starting over at the basics. I still have 30+ pounds to lose and don't have the option of upping my excercise right now. I am focusing about an hour to an hour and ahalf a day right now on cardio and challenges and I don't have time for more so the change has to come in my diet. I have always suffered with an extremely slow metabolism, low blood pressure and low blood sugar. I also have a thyroid issue and am constantly working to keep my med level right. I think considering my past success with losing on induction that maybe I am just going to have to stay there till my weight is where I want it and then move up the rungs for stability.

If anyone has had any similar issues and wants to share what they did for success with me I am more then open ........ It's been frustrating to say the least but what I have learned is that I can maintain fairly easily with extra veggies, fruits and nuts. I just can't eat them and lose. The week I started adding the extra veggies my weight stalled and I have been here ever since.

Sooooooo back to basics for me thats where my head is at .........
