  • Need a little help to get going again.

I started atkins in Feb of last year. Lost 40 something pounds. Then I stopped. I don't know why but I did. I ended up gaining back some weight. My lowest weight was 246.

After stopping atkins for the last 10+ months I gained 20lbs back. Which would be around 265. I started atkins induction again and got down to 254. That is where I am now. I was on induction last 2wks.

But then I screwed up. I had some ice cream and chicken nuggets yesterday. I felt so guilty and sick from eating it, it eventually came back up that last night. Now I don't know what to do? Should I go back on induction for 2 more weeks because I messed up? Or move to OWL?

    Hi Klexen,

I would say that it all depends on how you feel for each phase. A minor setback is not bad (although it's not nice to have it come "back up") but in the grand scheme of things...it's not something to beat yourself up about.

If I were you, I'd go back on Induction but that's just because for myself, personally, I feel my best on induction. Just very refreshed. It's sort of a clean slate for me! I am also a fan of extended induction!

Do what is best for you!

Yeah it wasn't nice for it coming back up. I guess my bodies way of kicking my butt.

I was on extended induction for 4 months. When I lost 46-47 lbs. But I read a lot of people saying that moving past induction actually helped them. And they regret staying on induction as long as they did.

I too feel very refreshed on induction.

      Anyone else care to comment?

        Hello Klexen,
I would put this little set back behind you and stick with Induction for four days then move onto Owl Rung 1. If any toxins did get into your system I would certainly want to rid of them. Drink tons of water and flush your system. The next thing you stick in your mouth, just make sure it's Atkins Friendly. Take one day at a time, or even one meal at a time. Remember this isn't a diet, it's a Lifestyle. You'll find your Atkins flow again. Keep on Keepen on!

hang in there! i would go back to induction x 2 weeks and then see how you feel. i was one of those people who could not lose on more than 20 grams of carbs a day, so i stayed on extended induction for MONTHS. even when i got on veggie rungs, i kept total carbs below 20 grams. you will have to see what works for you. i occassionally had some nuts/an atkins bar, but never did move up the rungs past veggies. good luck!
