  • Roll call, Thurs 2/28

    Is it cheating to start the roll call in the wee hours of the morning? I'm rarely up this late so it's probably a rare opportunity -- and my only way to beat all you early birds here.

    Today starts day 10 of induction for me. I'm feeling very good. Strong. Had a couple of cravey moments yesterday, but for the most part, I'm keeping them at bay. Mind, body, and spirit, I'm 150% improved from my plea for help (which you all so kindly answered) less that two weeks ago. Not out of the woods, of course, but definitely in a much, much better place.

    And yesterday the scale was unoffically down another couple of pounds. I'm looking forward to the official weigh in next Monday. Oh, how nice it is to again look forward to getting on the scale!

      Hi Guys

      Well it really is morning for me here in the UK!

      All fine. Had a few cravings over the last couple of days but I've found a decaff coffee with cream completely hits the spot which is great.

      I am having breakfast today (which I normally find hard). Crustless Quiche - yum!

      Must dash as need to get me and the kids ready for DD school run.

        reporting in for the roll call. its about 4:50am.....very early hear. i am gonna try to get some cardio in at the gym this morning. i made both my pushups and abs goals for february....... .........i cant wait until march 1st so i can get involved again.

          Wow, There are some early birds here! It's not so early for Zarabelle and I but the rest of you should get some sleep!

          Today we have guests coming to stay with us- my boyfriend's younger brother and his girlfriend. Having guests is always difficult because they want to go to restaurants or I end up cooking yummy carby things for them to enjoy (cookies and such...). I think I will be fine though!

                Good morning everyone. A beautiful snowy day today. Yesterday was a snow day for my son, so he spent the day with me at the office. He couldn't believe how boring it was, even with the little dvd player. He's right!

                Last night we had that Dreamfields low carb spaghetti. Even though I'm a little suspicious of it, I feel good this morning. Dh loves spaghetti and we hadn't had any for a year, so I thought we'd give it a try.

                  Geez. Yesterday at this time exactly, I was making lunches, and sliced open my hand. Ended up having to have stitches! See if I ever use a brand new knife again! They're cursed! lol. Anyway, I feel fine -even the site where they gave me a tetnus shot isn't sore this morning. But, no working out until Saturday.... and then, no weigh training in the upper body (because i have to actually hold things to do that) until the stitches come out in a week. EEEEK!

                  Ok, that's the yucky part of my news. The GOOD part is that on Tuesday, five people at work did double-takes and said "oh, my GOD! You look like you've lost a ton of weight!" or "you look so beautiful and thin these days!" I was floating. Yesterday I wore a button down shirt that didn't fit at ALL 2 weeks ago! And while most of my jeans are size 14, I can fit into one size 12. It seems that suddenly, I've gotten much leaner, even though the scale isn't moving at this particular moment (and TOM is here, so it will be a bit.) I am totally jazzed.

                  It is good to have those recognitions periodically, and also to be able to look in the mirror and see the difference onesself. I've had many small moments like that, but this seems to be a super big one. It feels like momentum is with me, and I'm completely motivated to keep going. The light can be seen at the end of the tunnel of my fatness, and I'm heading there in a reasonable and healthy way! No rush - I already look pretty darned good compared to when I started. Slow and steady does it. After all, the scale doesn't seem to be a very good indicator of distance now, does it?

                  Everyone, enjoy your day. Stop at least 3 times and notice how you are feeling and what symptoms of a carby lifestyle are missing from your day!

                    Happy Thursday everyone! I'm so glad the weekend is almost here. I made a taco salad last night. I even made the tortilla bowls in the oven for the kids and hubby and I had our in a real bowl. It was very yummy! I probably ate a little more than I should have - then I had a few nuts later in the evening (a big no no). I didn't gain or lose this morning. My official weigh in days are now on Sunday but since I did have the nuts, I wanted to make sure I was still okay. I highly recommend the taco salad. It's super easy and everything is legal. I'm looking for 1.5 pounds gone by Sunday. Lots of working out for me! I'll have to get a work out in before American Idol tonight (the results show). I'm afraid I have two addictions. One is this board and the other is Idol. Damn Simon! Love him!

                      Evermind YAY for you!!!! It's one thing to have others notice your weight loss, but when you see it yourself, that is totally awesome!

                      And to the rest of you early birds....what is wrong with your DNA!?!?!?!? Go back to bed!!! LOL! Sorry, I'm a sleep monkey. HATE crawling out from under those covers (especially in the dark winter).

                      But alas, I am now up & at 'em. I'm down to 219 this a.m., and as much as I hate being in the 200's, I'm actually quite excited that the number that follows my first 2, isn't another 2. So...yay to being in a new number!!!

                        Well poop - I wrote a long good morning thing and something happened!

                        Sorry to hear about the stitches Ever!! And you are doing great!!

                        Well my CLA should show up today along with some low-carb breakfast bars. I just need something to grab and go at the market which doesn't require heating. It should be interesting because they have sugar alcohols and I haven't had any yet - so we'll see how I react. I did ok with them 1st time I was on Atkin's - but I haven't had any since then.

                        Oh - changed up my work-out this morning and boy did it kick my abs!! Same 100 crunches - but did them on my exercise ball and used weights. Got the idea from Shape mag and it was a great workout for my abs. Gotta find my resistance bands so I can do a couple more different things to change it up. Changed to "summo squats" which is great for the inside thighs and still works the butt (which SOOO needs it!)

                        Oh well - everyone have a great day!!

                            Morning. i haven't checked in in a bit but today i hpped on the scale and it said 165. i was trying to meet that goal Jan 1st but stalled out after thanksgiving and then i reset the goal for V day but still no movement so i was completely shocked when i hopped on the scale and it said 165. i had to check again just to be sure. i hope this means that i have broken this stall and that my body has finally given up to the idea of holding onto this decade on the scale.

                              Hey all!

                              My gosh, the snow is melting here! Last night when I got home from the gym it was in the 50s, that's nearly tropical for this time of the year!

                              Today is my yoga day. Since I'm going to a concert this evening, I'm cancelling my class at the gym, and I'm going to do yoga in my classroom as soon as my students leave. My co-worker friend (who is a regular in my class) is going to join me. I'm just wondering if I should shut the lights off, or put paper over the windows...which looks less creepy and/or suspicious?
