Aloha all,
I'm new to the BB but not to Atkins. After my second son was born, I was at my highest ever weight of 180. I went on a strict Atkins and was faithful for nearly 4 years, dropped to 130 and kept it stable for years. I ran every morning and felt great! I loved everything about it and was very happy.
I had a trauma that set me off balance and I started to slip. Then I took on a very high-profile and high stress position on the job. 80 hours a week and little control over my food environment. I managed to hold my life and family together well, but my health suffered. I'm back to a calmer and balanced job position. After nearly 4 years I am right back to my original state... 176 pounds.
As I was putting it on, I just believed that loosing it would simply take a recommitment to Atkins. I was really good at Atkins. This fat hasn't been with me for so long, so it should be easy to take off, right? WRONG.
Something magical happened.. I turned 40. After 2 weeks of induction and ketosis setting in I found no movement and only bloating. 4 weeks and nothing new. I just couldn't seem to get back into my groove.
I took a break and tried a couple of other changes to prepare for another induction. I stocked up on supplements, started running and yoga, and eliminated coffee and alcohol. I went on a herbal detox. I'm hoping I can get this body to move back into a fat burning mode. There is a mental and spiritual part of letting go of fat.
After all of that, I am just starting induction again. I'm hoping that this time is a charm.
It is HARDER this second time around. So I know I will need support and advice through the process.
Mahalo for being there!
