One month in.....

  • One month in.....

    Morning everyone.

    Four weeks in and I am 16 pounds down. 1-2 dress sizes smaller. Healthier, satiated, happier and more confident. I am calling for my blood results (taken three weeks in) at 12noon so will let you know how I get on (they are my (almost) starting results!).

    We are off on holiday to Bermuda tomorrow. We have two daughters - age 18 months and almost 3 years old so will have fun entertaining them for 7 hours on the plane.

    I will check in later on the roll call and possibly tomorrow too and then will be offline (but on plan) until 1 April.

    Have a great couple of weeks.

      Well done on the losses. I hope you enjoy Bermuda, that's home for me. I was not born there but my DH and I are residents on the Island and have a house there. We currently rent it out and are living in Malta. The weather should be very nice and enjoy the relatively cheaper shopping because of the dollar rate. If you are in to make up and creams etc. they are usually a lot cheaper there than in the UK, check out AS Coopers for them.

        Condor - thanks for the info. I can't wait - it looks like heaven on earth! It is freezing here at the moment (predicted to snow at the weekend!) so we are looking forward to seeing the sun! I will check out AS Coopers as I am in to make-up and creams! Thanks for the tip! x

          Have fun and congratulations on all you've done for yourself! You deserve a holiday! Enjoy it! Soak up some extra sun for all of us in the cold!

            They are delighted with my blood results. The average in the UK is 5.6mmol/l for women which is over the recommended amount. The ideal amount is under 5mmol/l.

            Mine is 3.6mmol/l (3 weeks in to Atkins)
            Optimum LDL should be under 3mmol/l - mine is 1.89mmol/l
            HDL - higher the better - mine is 1.45mmol/l
            Cholesterol Ratio - ideal 4.5 or less - mine is 2.5
            Triglycerides - 0.59
            Glucose: 4.8
            Kidney and Liver function - all fine.

            YAY! Will repeat tests in six months.

                  Your post is an inspiration! Well done. I'm glad to hear that you are feeling healthier and satiated. I'm on week one and look forward to getting there.
                  I've taken my boys on many a long plane ride.
                  Here's a tip. For every hour you are on the plane wrap up a 'surprise' for them. Something small like a snack, pack of crayons, mcdonalds toy. Let them unwrap it on the hour. It keeps them entertained.
                  Another tip. Get a children's book on CD and let them listen to it on an ipod.
                  Another tip. If it is an evening trip, a little dimatap. It helps relieve the congestion that they get on the plane and it puts them to sleep. Then you can sleep too!

                      I am SOOOO proud of you! We re-started a few days apart and you have just excelled in leaps and bounds! You inspire me so much and I love reading your posts! I'll miss ya! You're coming back when I finally weigh myself again and take my progress pics!
