  • hello everyone im trying again

Well this is day number two for me and I'm trying this again my freaking head hurts, my throat hurts and i really want a cough drop and some cookies. ide probably choke a nun right now for some cookies. tomorrow i think i might just become even more sick at least i haven't eaten anything crazy today nor have i jumped on the scale which i think is good for me because i have the habit of expecting magic to happen sometimes. wish me luck

Re: hello everyone im trying again

Every one of us on the boards has had some form of discomfort when we started. Its like our bodies go in to this full revolt and decides to throw all kinds of symptoms and aches and pains at us. I remember the dizziness, the headaches and especially the massive headcold that I had on like day 4. It would have been so easy to just self medicate myself with old habits. I am so GLAD that I have resisted and perservered. Truly, if I can make it so can you!! Keep strong and focus on what the end goal will look like!!!

Welcome back! Hang in there and just keep a little voice in the back of your head reminding you that the discomfort will be over soon and the pounds will be melting off. It will be worth it!

I agree with Lauren -- spare the nuns.

You'll get through this icky time and feel much better. I went from a sugar binge on Sunday to cold turkey yesterday, and my head was pounding all day. Better today, though...

            Hang in there!

                Aloha Fatback,
When I started on induction just over a week ago, I went through some of the same physical reactions as you are.
It really helped me to think about this as going COLD TURKEY to break the carbs. Think of yourself going through a detox. You need to get over the addiction. Once you break yourself, it will be MUCH easier.
Water really helps, and so does having a spiritual balance. (So leave the nuns in peace!!)
Good luck! We are all with you.

You'll be all right.... just go ahead and indulge in an extra measure of sleep; if you must- add an item or so that are carb-free- then expext to wake up energized!!!

p.s. - if you can't seem to get past the munchies, try pork skins, etc.
other no-carb stuff - -sw.- jello, or (send me questions - I'm limited by dial-up...)

Re: hello everyone im trying again

I share your love for cookies. I got off Atkins three months ago, after having a lot of success on it, and enjoyed an every-weekend binge of two packs of cookies (14 per pack) from my local bakery. Here I am, back on Atkins, looking to lose the ten pounds I put back on, and finish off my weight loss, and reach my goal.

These first few days are tough. After a week, though, the incessant cravings will pass. Do what you have to do, but hang in, and don't quit. Nothing tastes as good as self-confidence and personal happiness feel.
