I would like to start by thanking everyone. Sometimes it is the tiniest comment made in a post that helps someone else out. Whether it is realizing you are not alone in a particular struggle or hunting for an answer that is right there in a post. I have found several nuggets of information I was hunting for just by reading. You have all contributed to helping me lose some bad attitudes!
I have been back on Atkins since Jan 1/08. I have never felt better, slept better, had more energy or been happier. I turned 40, am learning to play guitar and started picking myself up off the floor. 2007 was just a very difficult year. I was glad it was over, and decided to make some changes. I have lost almost 30 pounds in 90 days! I will post a new photo when I hit 30 pounds off.
I believe that as a direct result of all of the above, I walked into a job interview 3 weeks ago feeling like I was shining. I wore a fabulous outfit that was not new, it just had never fit me so well. I knocked the interview right out of the park and landed the job. It is with a group of about 25 thirty-somethings and forty-somethings and I think I will be quite happy there. I am still settling in, but things feel right.
I am shocked at the number of people who race through the closest drive-thru every day for lunch. The burger-fries-pop combos are brought back to their desks to eat. Yes, every day. Yikes! The carbs/fat/sugar/cost blow my mind. Day after day, I eat my combinations of broccoli florets, dip, hard boiled eggs, cheese cubes, left over roast beef/chicken/pork, cucumber or raw green beans. I love my lunch! No mid-afternoon sleepies for me! I am pocketing $50 per week to spend on my holiday in May. I just sit and smile (and continue to lose weight) because I know that this is the right choice for me. They can eat that stuff and think it is good. Blegch!
I think one good thing leads to the next. It is not a coincidence, we make these things happen. Thanks for all your support. Sadly, the IT department watches my every move at work, so I can only post from home. Evenings are very short, I'll catch up on week-ends! You all rock.
