I doubt that I will have time to check in later and since theres no roll call, here goes... As most of you know, DBF lost his job. Since he hasn't had any time off in forever, he suggested that we spend some time in the mountains at his family's cabin. We went up there Friday. The nights were absolutely freezing and the wood stove wasn't heating the cabin properly. We had a propane heater to use during the day with limited propane. It was about 35-40 degrees outside in the mornings. We all piled under atleast ten blankets at night. We were going to leave Saturday morning because it was so cold and the stove wasn't working right. Mid-day Saturday we made it out after breakfast and cleaning and went to get some supplies for the cabin before we packed to leave. On the way back, our explorer got stuck in the mud five minutes away from the cabin. The mud was up and over the axles under the explorer and the explorer was literally sitting in over a foot of mud. It took us two days to get it out. We had tried everything for about three hours and then we decided to dig the explorer out. There was one shovel at the cabin. We dug it out and then we had to jack the explorer up by the sides of the wheel rims and put rocks under them before DBF could drive it out. The whole while the kids had to sit in the explorer while we ran the heater with our dog. There was no cell phone reception for miles around either. I didn't stick with atkins during this time, but then again, I didn't eat too much. We were too busy and working fast. I'm just glad to be home! Hope you guys had a better weekend. Now off to do laundry, unpack, clean up, and all that good stuff. Have a wonderful day STACers!!
