this is so bad but my girlfriends mom brought over a whole box of donuts, its had the little tasty creme ones with the sweet chocolate temptation frosting on the top. and i swear i could smell those things from two rooms away i am so wanting one right now. i found myself in the kitchen trying to figure if i could just lick the frosting off and spit it back out this is horrible, after tomorrow i think Ill be out of the 230's and into the 220's whoo hoo but this weekend i have to drive drive to Albany and stay for three days and I'm basically screwed. so what kinda things should i do for damage control. man I'm a fool for creme donuts

DON'T DO IT!! Resist the temptation. I know that krispy kremes are the best doughnuts ever.. Smell them if you have to and drink a HUGE glass of water. (man, I use to eat a whole dozen by myself)

You don't have to cheat just becaust you travel. You can eat legally anywhere. I mean even a whopper minus the bun is better than just cheating and giving up. I eat out a lot and i can find legal food everywhere.

Fatback, it sounds like you are planning to cheat instead of planning ways of getting around the circumstances that make you cheat! You need to bring plenty of legal snacks. Maybe even bring a cooler of things you can have! If you have a fridge in the room go to a grocery store when you get there to get a few things you can have. If you have to eat out it is easy to do so on plan, even with fast food (though it's not ideal). I'm a frequent traveller and if I went off every time I was somewhere else I would never be on plan. I just got back from Barcelona for a week with five other carb eaters and I didn't cheat one bit (even though it was over Easter so there was candy every where!). I was able to do it because I planned ahead. I brought snacks and something for breakfast just in case, then I had a larger breakfast just in case I couldn't have much for lunch. And ordering dinner out is always doable, you just have to be creative sometimes! I'm just telling you this to let you know it can absolutely be done while you are travelling. You can do this and stay strong, you just have to really be committed to it!

Also, you might want to get away from the "eventually I will want to eat them again" idea... For me that kind of thinking just makes "eventually" more like "now". Also, eating those things is what got you needing to lose weight in the first place. It's better for me to not think of an "after atkins" time and just believe that this is how I eat now and I'm healthier and happier because of it!

Alot of my friends around here pour cleaning chemicals on donuts! Those treats that seem impossible they just pour killer stuff on em....then nobody gets slapped by the donut!
The powerful draw of these foods really is tough, you will have to use all sorts of creative things.
I always go eat some of my most favorite low carb foods....Green olives are so satisfying, cream cheese and a touch of splenda helps too. Lynn suggested steak, that's a huge treat.....
A big glass of water and 20 or 30 mins of intense exercise also curbs the appetite.
