    Re: HELP diet not working???

Go Mel Go! Keep tinkering and working out what works for your body. Play by the rules and SOON you are going to see the results you want. Your body can only hold on so long. Maybe some ketosticks to see if you are in ketosis....but then I LOVE those things! I'm buying them this week myself as I aim with all my heart back to ketosis!

I did do the strict induction all over again and I started to almost black out a few times so I gave up on the whole deal?
I think my brain was staving for glycogen and I was on the verge of fainting, everything was turning black?
That was almost a year ago now.

Um. I have to tell you, after reading these posts I see a few problems with the whole situation... A person should be eating at least 1200-1400 calories per day to keep their body out of "starvation mode". This is for folks who even do not exercise. If you are working out that much, you should be eating more. This will also help to lose weight. For example, weighing in around 230lbs, eating 900 calories a day, and working out 2-3 hours 5/7 days did not help me lose weight, eating 1600-1800 as a minimum did. You need to be eating high fat, it's true, but I really think your overall calories were your issue.

This could also be the reason for spells of dizziness/spots in vision/etc. If you are not consuming enough, it can cause all of these issues. It is not a matter of not eating sugar so much as a matter of not eating enough food.

If you are still willing to try, I definitely recommend following the induction rules for a clean induction for 2 weeks (since you haven't been eating Atkins for about a year) and then moving straight up the rungs with eating more veggies first. Keeping your carbs at 25g is not always such a great thing and can cause a person to stall more than moving on (I have also tried with this and failed miserably). I *do* suggest keeping a food journal. I use dailyplate.com, I know a lot of folks here use fitday.com, but I have also just used a paper journal where I recorded food and exercise (it helped for reps/weight with weight training) all together and it was easy to see what was going on.

If you need more help, you can always post menus and people can figure out things that they think need tweaking.
