    Ok here's a dumb question or two...

    What does it mean when people write TOM?
    What is the Induction flu?
    Also what's a "whooshie"?

    I'm sorry these are stupid questions but I don't understand some posts because I don't know what these terms mean. Sorry.

    No stupid questions at all!

    TOM = Time of the month

    Induction Flu - Some people get headaches, fatigued, nauseous, etc...while on induction. On the other hand some aren't affected by this change. In a simpler description - it's when you detox your body of all the junk it's used to being fed. The Induction Flu lasts a few days.

      LOL.. you don't know if you don't ask!!!

      TOM = Time Of Month (woman's period)

      Induction Flu is when you first start Atkins, some people have flu like symptoms while their body adjusts to not having sugar.

      A Whooshie is when your body catches up with the weight loss and you step on the scale to find that you have lost a few pounds in a quick period of time. We also pray for the whooshie fairie to visit us and bring that weight loss.

        Haha, thanks so much! I was so confused when I read a few posts that read "waiting for TOM" or "dealing with TOM"...I was like who is this Tom? Haha! Wow. That's all I have to say...Wow.

        Haven't experienced the flu, had mad caffeine headaches.

        Oooo... I want a Wooshie!!!!

          I do have two questions that are FORUM related (not specific to Atkins) but since I don't use messenger or any other forums..I don't know. What's a DD and a DH?

                      Here's a link to some of the abbreviations you'll probably see quite often on the board. Hope this helps, if there are any others, just ask. No question is considered dumb here, we all start out new and unfamiliar with the slang.
