Hi to everyone. I used to be on here alot and did alot of posts. I made so many friends and learned so much about the Atkins way of life. I have read DANDR and referred to it frequently when I was doing Atkins Induction. During my time on Induction, I decided to try and give up smoking. I quickly become overwhelmed and consumed on not be able to quit. Eventually I left the forum and went back to my old ways of eating.
I quit smoking on February 12, 2008. That was the day I went in to have my cervical spine completely rebuilt. C2/C3 were completely shattered and C5, C6, and C7 were compressing my spinal cord. I was lucky and had the best neurosurgeon. He did a great job and continues to do a great job with me. I spent 9 days in the hospital before I came home. I spent 16 days unable to eat because of ulcers on my tongue. But out of a horrible situation, I became a non-smoker. I had always said "If I could stop smoking, I could reach any goal".
Well now Im back and this time my daughter (who just had a baby) will be joining the group. Her name on here will be Lyric'sMommy. We are both really excited to begin the Atkins way of life.
