  • Roll Call - Friday 25 April

    Well guys, I had a slip up last night. I cooked a lovely beef bourguinon in the crockpot and was about to dish up when I saw a bag of prawn crackers right next to it and yep, you guessed it - temptation got the better of me and before I knew it, I had eaten about half a bag! It's not good.... but I didn't use it as an excuse to then have other carbs like I used to so it wasn't terrible. The max I ate was half a pack so 14.5g carbs which pushed me up to 37g carbs for the day. I am hoping it will not have knocked me out of ketosis. This morning the ketostik turned light pink (low levels).

    The carb creep had crept in. I had terrible PMS last week and allowed myself an alcoholic drink each night to try and calm me down (LOL! It worked). Unfortunately, this has continued this week so I need to get back on induction for a few days and get back in control.

    I am going for a walk along the Thames this morning with my daughter and some friends and then will do a work out when the kids are asleep at lunch time.

    I have a weight goal set up on fitday. I have always been just above target and below the red guide line of where I have to be... until today - I have hit the red line so I need to lose just under 8 pounds a month or I won't acheive what I set out to do....

    I am determined to push on.. I know this is a dangerous time as I am getting lots of compliments already but I still have a lot to lose and need to get on with it and do the job!!

      On track with this WOL & feeling good. Need to work on exercise as usual. Day 6 of back to basics & I'm in ketosis!

        Morning I am on track too, very grateful to be here. Been so busy, and that diminished appetite kicked in and I barely remember eating! That is a good thing!
        Zara, drink alot of water to flush your system in a few days if you stay strict you will be back....it's tough once you let the carbs creep...I've been dealing with that for 6 mos....and now I am BACK!

          I'm here! A little tired as I didn't sleep well last night and was up at some time I don't usually want to see. Busy day ahead of us which is ok. Just got to get stated. At least part of it is just letting the kids play with others....

          I didn't slip yesterday - I did ok..... not great cause I need more of that green stuff!

          Right now we have so many plants in the basement it's getting exciting. My husband laughingly asked last night we I bought any tomatoes.... understand I am a tomato snob at this point because I am completely spoiled by what my huabdn grows... and with 1000 tomato plants in the basement I think I'll hold off buying that "stuff" Don't worry - we only plant about 300 or so plants in the ground The herbs are coming in nicely too which is awesome! Thai Basil tastes yummy!!

            Good Morning everyone.

            I know I should know by now but... How do you know if you are in ketosis? How do you fall out of it? I am a little confused. Anyone else find themselves not being able to sleep? I go to bed super late and am up super early. (Only like 3-4 hours of sleep) I haven't weighed myself since last week and am nervous that the scale has not moved. I lose a few pounds then hit a plateau again. ANYWAY, I have a wedding to go to tomorrow night. Can anyone help me? I know I will be drinking so what is a drink with the lowest carbs possible? Sorry I am full of questions this morning but I have been up all night thinking about them. Thanks guys! Can't wait to hear from you

              good morning! so glad it is friday. tomorrow i am getting an HOUR LONG swedish massage-oh i'm i pumped! and the best part is-is what a gift! yay! i have never gotten a professiona massage so i can't wait! what a great way to treat yourself to some TLC!!!

              the week has gone great, food wise. i'm really keeping the cheese down..making little changes like hard boiled eggs in the morning instead of cheesey scrambled.

              i have just started reading into this, and it was actually brought to my attention by a dear friend of mine also doing atkins..but i've started looking into the idea that i could possibly have a yeast overgrowth problem. i was reading up in my atkins book yesterday and also online about it and i seem to match a lot of symptoms. but...who knows. you know how the internet goes. you can find a match for every ailement you find. but several things do stirke my attention and i plan on researching more.

                great day i just finished lunch - i had a veggie soup (cauliflower, broccoli but mostly mushrooms and chicken )

                i too slipped last nite with a bowl of chocolate ice cream...i felt sooo awful afterwards but now i am back on track....i woke up this morning with a 6 pound loss makin a total of 8 pounds in one week.

                  Morning all!

                  Feel great this morning - down to 111 - wow! Only 1 more lb to go to my original goal - 6 more to my new goal
                  Debating on if I want to go to BOSU or Spin class this morning. Found some new running shorts with the stretchy boy shorts built in so your butt cheeks aren't high-fiving each other when you run-NICE!
                  Hubby and I went on a "date" last night - went and saw "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" Was funny - a lot of nekkid man shots - which is OK by me, about time men get some face time (wink, wink )
                  Tonight, I am having a sleepover with some mom pals. We are getting our guitar hero on and also partaking in some yummy cocktails

                            hey everyone i had yet another day with no movement on the scale so i took some pics and found no solice there. and yesterday i ran for 2 miles and today i will probably run another mile which will bring me up to 4 miles for the week.
