  • Need some suggestions on Induction - having a rough patch

I think my main problem is that I don't cook for the future - I need to make food and freeze it so it is on hand!

In the past I have succeeeded by making turkey meatloaf and bacon (not together but maybe it might be yummy - lol) and freezing portions - I need to do this again

Are there any other items you make and store? Please offer some suggestions....I need to constantly have foods on hand that are quick and easy....

Today is rather stressful because my foods are limited at work....I need to get through today and change beginning tonight when I get home....I am just struggling - sorry for venting so much!

*Grill/fry chicken breasts or chicken tenders
*Boil eggs (a dozen or so at a time) for a quick meal or snack, or to make into egg salad
*cut up veggies when you go shopping and put them in snack/sandwich bags
*buy cheesesticks (pre-portioned into 1oz. packages) for a quick snack
      *make your own beef jerky

Those are all great tips! I have to agree, even though I am a stay at home mom I still get all crazy when I have the food right in front of me. It's not any easier when you have what you need but have to make pb&j on yummy bread for your toddler!! Having legal snacks on hand makes the impulse to jump at the muffins more managable. I always keep olives at hand. I dip them in a little mayo (I'm weird) and I feel better instantly. If I eat cheese I always eat too much and eggs kill my stomach if I overdo them.

There are so many sites that have recipes for induction friendly meals that you can make on the weekend and freeze. I'd check out the recipes forum in here too for a lot of great ideas.

        Good luck!

I keep a bag of almonds as an emergency food and eat 11 or 12 if i cant stand the wait. I also keep washed lettuce in the fridge and boiled eggs on hand. A deviled egg will quickly kill hunger pangs til meal time. Also I do large batches of chicken strips and then if I need a quick salad with chicken strips or a fajita without the tortilla, etc. the chicken is already done. I can also chop it and throw it into some broth with some low carb veggise for a fast soup.
