  • Day 11- Induction no loss

    Opps..I realized I posted in the wrong place seeing that this is my third time on atkins. Anyway, this is day 11 of my induction and I have not loss any weight. When I did atkins before I lost 13 pounds by the end of induction. I have been working out at least 2 days a week and been eating all the correct things. According to the sticks I am in ketosis. Not sure what the difference is now then before.

    wish I could help you, Im in the same boat. I havent lost anything either. I am just holding on to the hope that I am losing inches...

    Do you think you are doing anything at all just a bit different? Are you excercising?

      Well, the first time I exercised about 5x a week 3 hours a day. That was about 4 years ago. the second time I didn't do anything and I lost 12 pounds. Now I'm at least doing 2 x a week and nothing. I know i'm in ketosis, but it just feels like my body is saying "yeah right". I'm going to try to stay on induction for at least 3 more weeks to see if anything happens. In not I'm not sure what to do next.

        Maybe get a menu review? sometimes even when we have been on it a few times...we can still mess it up...I am kind of a been there done that! rofl I learned this time, I was not having enough veggies...(Dr. Atkins says over 50% of our carbs should come from veggies, now I am actually making sure of that)...anyhow, maybe a double check of your menu might reveal something??
        Not sure what else to say...i am a slow loser, was last time, am this time again...rof Oh well, Maybe someday I will get down in sizes!

          What weight are you at ? What height? Is TOM involved? You need to post a menu. How is your water consumtion?

            I am currently 240. This is my menu for today.

            Breakfast- 3 link sausages and one egg

            Lunch- Burrito Bol from chipotle. No rice or beans. Just lettuce, fresh tomatoes, chicken, sour cream and hot sauce.

            Dinner-( I think i'm having) either oxtail or curry chicken and steamed cabbage.

            I drink about 4 bottles of water (regular size) unless I work out then it's more.

            I am going to try 3 more weeks on induction. I based my first weigh in on my doctor's appointment from about a month ago and I was 240 then. So maybe I was actually 245 or maybe more. I'm going to keep trying. Hopefully I will have some success. I think this is the only diet that will work or me.

              Dont get discouraged by the scale. It can play mind games with you. I am going through the samething. I am on day 15 and my first week I dropped 8lbs and he last 2 I have been gaining and losing the same 2 damn pounds. But I noticed a difference in my back area and well as my waist. My bra doesn't dig into my skin as much as it did. So I know that I am losing but the scale doesn't reflect that.

              My hubby stole my scale and won't give it back because he says that I let that stupid thing dictate my emotions. So it rides around in his trunk.

              By the way don't trust Chipotle's Burrito bowl. I think they must use some kind of seasoning with sugar or something cause I had the same thing once (when I was on Atkins last year and lost 60lbs arrrgghhh why do i remind myself) and it made my head hurt and made me bloated and I was going back with the same 1 or 2 pounds for about a week.

                Well I hope I start to lose something soon. my husband is the same way, i had to hide the scale. tonight I had some pollo guisado (dominican stewed chicken). I am used to the one my mother in law makes, but this one seemed too good to be true. I am just hoping that they didn't add any sugar to the recipe. Well, if they did nothing i can do know except to stay away from the plantains and rice. Sugar seems to be in everything.

                  Is your time of the month (TOM) around the corner? I gained weight and then lost it after it was over. How many total veggie net carbs are you eating a day? Try to shoot for 12-15 net carbs from veggies daily.

                    It took about a month to start seeing losses for me this time and it has been slow going since--much slower than the first time I did Atkins, but hang in there the scale will start to move.

                      Know how you feel! Been on this diet for 2 weeks and about 1lb weight loss - if that!!! Tried so hard for the last 2 weeks and then to see nothing come off is quite demotivating. I went out for dinner this evening and even though i stuck to the salad and meats, I did have a big pudding. I was so p****d off and it made me feel good at the time but I feel guilty as **** now :-(
                      Tomorrow's another day....Also is herbal tea ok - peppermint???
