HI all! I cant remember if I posted here before LOL but this is going to be my main forum since I like it the best and its applicable to me ITs a few days late, but I lost 10 lbs on induction and as of today I am down 14 lbs. I am a little bummed as no one seems to have noticed. I started on the 10th, and no cheating...my vice being sugar substitutes but I need them right now (diet coke, iced tea). I feel like I am doing great! I am actually really NOT hungry a lot of the time. Its very weird since I was such an overeater. Anyhow, just wanted to check in...off to change my sig!

14 pounds is awesome. I think sometiomes people are afraid to mention it at first. I know I never say "have you lost weight" it just seems rude even more so if the answer is no

          Re: Induction results

Even if someone I know seems to have dropped a few pounds I'd NEVER comment on it out of sheer politeness. Somehow, in mind, instead of saying "Oh, you look like you dropped a few pounds!!" the other person hears "You looked terrible before and now are starting to look more "normal". I only say that because that's how I think when people start commenting on my own weight loss.

No one ever jumps in to comment when you've gained--lol. I'm more concerned with the way I feel, not with how I look to others or what they think.

That said, I'll get off my soapbox now and start congratulating you on a very successful Induction!!! I'll bet you feel a ton better with that weight off. Just to remind yourself of what 10 pounds actually feels like go buy two bags of 5lb potatos and try lugging them around your middle all day. You'll have a whole new appreciation for weight loss then!! lol.

Shannon, first of all congrats on the 14 pound loss ! I'm on the other side of the fence from the other posters. I will usually say something if I notice that someone has lost weight (or appears to have lost weight). Maybe it's because I want people to say it to me - to notice. Even if I haven't lost weight it still makes me feel good. Please don't be discouraged that nobody has said anything yet . They will! I bet within the next five to ten pounds you will start to hear compliments. From my personal experience it wasn't until I had lost almost 24 pounds (from 249 to 225) that people started to say something. In my mind (not a scientific study ) the more someone weighs the more they have to lose before people take notice.

              Keep up the good work.

This is true. Perhaps they are scared to say so since they have said so before and I am always like "NO!" lol

                Thanks for the encouragement, everyone!
