Hello all!
Wonderful weekend so far. It's raining and muggy here in Pittsburgh, but I've mostly been sitting on my bum, so I haven't had to deal with it too much.
Me and my friend have now been on Atkins Induction Phase for 5 days. We're drinking water like fishes to prevent water loss, and taking a fiber supplement to keep things "moving". Being strict on looking at labels for hidden sugars, and making sure that what we consume is within the acceptable foods list. In fact, this morning, I made an Induction Egg Bake with no-sugar sausage for us! YUMMY!
Now for the progress report. Starting out at 195.5, I'm down to 191 after 5 days. Depending on the time of day, my BF drops to about 20% from 23% (I don't trust that machine for that though; I have calipers for real measuring). He's at 191 down from 195. This is his first time on Atkins, and I'm proud to be teaching him what its like when you stop living for carbs. He didn't believe this would be possible (and our friends think it's dangerous), but we're already seeing results.
Oh yeah, and his Ketostix are dark purple.
Mine? Usually purple on some level. haha.
My mini goal is 185 after induction, meaning I've got another 6 pounds to go. After that, I'm on to 175, which by using OWL, means it would take about 10 weeks to get there. Then, pre-maintenance and on. He has a goal of 175 as well.
Here's my question for the day: we also have body fat goals. Have you guys noted a drop in your body fat using Atkins? I know it sounds silly, but it's possible to drop weight and not necessarily body fat. Experiences? Thoughts?
Thanks!
Jason and Jason
