  • First Day of Induction

    Hi everyone!
It's June 1st, and my first day of Induction!! Even though I had a bad stomach ache last night, and this morning, I'm doing good. Drinking lots of water. Not weighing myself until day 15. I plan on being on Extended Induction for a few months, for I have alot to lose. Will be checking in!!

      welcome ...
Remember the two week induction is really about mental toughness. Be prepared. You may have some strong cravings ... and thoughts about "just a little cheat" take this on as a personal challenge to show that you can control your mind and your body. That it is your concious thoughts and your long term goals that are in control.

Stay focused. Things get MUCH easier after the two weeks are up.

thanks, tom, i know how trying it can be. especially the first couple of days, when you still have your sweet cravings. i did great today, but i am so mentally ready for this, it didn't seem that hard. who knew??

Good for you, Lulubell. Today is my first day two of a second time around. I passed up baklava lovingly brought home by my fiance but now I'm having sugar cravings and really want a snack. And the apple pie in the fridge is looking so tempting. But I've gained 18 pounds of the 70 I lost. I'm not going back. I'm just not.

            Re: First Day of Induction

Hey Lulubell! Would love to be buddies! This is our second day on Induction, and I am sooooo thirsty! I don't ever remember being this thirsty. So, I am having no problems drinking lots of water. My stomach pains have subsided and I'm able to walk on my treadmill and do other exercises. ( still dont know why I was having stomach aches. )
I also don't really have much of an appetite. I wonder if this is the early Induction Flu that I have? A few days before I started, I cut back alot on sugars and carbs to prepare myself, hoping I wouldn't get the Induction Flu. Does anybody think that's why I was feeling so sick? No sickness today so far......thank goodness!

Just to be curious, I know I wasn't suppose to, but I got on the scales, and lost 2 pounds. I'm going to have my hubby hide those scales! I remember I tend to weigh myself daily.......big no no.....lol

              hey misty,

good for you! i would imagine that it must have helped significantly to cut back on the sugars even before starting atkins. i was kinda in that mode, but i ate a cupcake in saturday afternoon at my sister's b-day party.

i can't explain the extreme thirst, might have something to do with your system getting clean? seems like a good thing to me. yesterday was a good day for me, too. i probably didn't eat enough calorie-wise, but i spent most of the day gardening and doing yardwork and so i was really drinking alot of water to stay hydrated and that has an affect of curbing appetite for me.

yay! so glad you are on the same time line as me. i had planned to get up and exercise this morning, but i did not. no biggie, i will walk on the treadmill after work.

so, we'll check in daily with each other - that will be good. have a great day!

                Hey Lulubell,

Yea, I think that getting my body prepared for Atkins had to be the cause of my feeling sick and my body getting ready for burning these extra pounds. I feel good today. Just sad to say, not really an appetite. I had to force myself to eat 2 pieces of bacon and a deviled egg. Water is no problem. Thirsty as heck! Will be checking in daily as well on my progress. Have a great day!

This is also my first day back. I lost 18lbs the first time (last year) and have only gained a few pounds back but have since tried a lot of things to lose more with no luck at all. Good luck to us!

I always seem to be thirstier when I drink more water. Its a good thing I guess. And look at all the exercise you get running back and forth to the bathroom
