  • June 3 Roll Call

I am up and dressed in bike shorts and sneakers. It's my new routine and TIMING IS EVERYTHING. Summer is here, and yet my house empties out pretty darn early. I am determined to get back into the groove I had for so very long. It can be done with focus and committment and timing, because for me, TIMING IS EVERYTHING.
So this month I am riding 200 miles on the bike. That is only 50 a week.
Best time of day is early in the morning BECAUSE TIMING IS EVERYTHING. So I just have to get up early and make that happen. August 1st 2006 I started Atkins with the vision of a total make of in my way of eating and living. I had to put exercise in very very early in order to get it done for various reasons. It worked for me, TIMING IS EVERYTHING. I found the right place for the right things and it all worked.

I take that approach again, where will I place exercise so that it happens and is enjoyable. Very early in the morning. Where will I put those 100 ounces of water??? Spreading them out over the day so they all get conquered?
Where do I spread those carbs out? How do I get them all in, and when do I tend to suffer the need for a treat the most...?

    Timing is everything!

I am here. I just keep chuggin along. Nothing going on with measurements or weight loss but I also know that this is a WOL not a crash diet. I have been examining the thought that perhaps i simply cannot lose any more but I know that is not true. I am not full of muscle and i have flab to spare so there is definitely more work to be done. Just wondering why my body has decided to settle in here.

Day 2 back on track for me, feeling good - just a bit tired (but at least for the time being there is no nasty headache or anything). I managed to get 108oz of water in yesterday (I was committed to at least 100) and I did use fitday... wow was that eye opening. Last time around I got lazy and didn't use fitday, I am not 100% sure that I had to be going over my 20 allowed carbs daily because of the amount of salsa I was using with my ground beef! Today I'll have ground beef and some diced tomatoes instead. The salsa is sugar free, just the fact that I had a lot... its all veggies, lots of carbs. No more sour cream either - I don't like it enough to use up carbs for that.

good morning everyone. day 2 for me as well. i actually feel pretty good today. GREAT post jess. you're so right timing is everything, and so is using the time you have correctly. this morning i had to go with hubby for a test at the hospital on his thyroid. as i was waiting in the waiting room for him and reading the paper, i found myself saying "what are you doing?". there i was sittin' on my bum in this spaceous new hospital with a huge lobby. i decided to take advantage of all the space available to go for a walk. there were probably people wondering what the heck i was doing as i circled the lobby for the third time, then i found a staircase that went to the second floor from the lobby and a horseshoe shaped walkway overlooking the lobby. i went to the second floor and got halfway round when i noticed DH walking around looking for me, so i didn't get to finish the walk upstairs, but i was glad that i had used that time to get moving instead of looking for another magazine to flip through while he was having the test done. my only regret was that i didn't think of it earlier instead of reading the whole newspaper.

enough of my rambling, hope everyone has a wonderful day

                Re: June 3 Roll Call

Checking in - hopefully it will be a good day. I'm a bit upset, though: it's been four days and I'm stuck at 190.5 on induction. I only have another 6 days left on induction and I've only only 5.5 pounds. It might be because I drink enough water and am not losing water weight. Who knows. I'm concerned, though. I don't want to get stuck here. Yesterday, I walked for 1 hour and 15 minutes, and today I'll probably walk and do some HIIT. Hopefully that will kick start it. I'm hoping. I dont' want to start OWL five pounds higher than I thought I would be.

Pens won last night...which I'm happy about, but also torn about because Michigan is my home state. It was an exciting game, though. So...yeah.

                  Re: June 3 Roll Call

What a great way to start the day....timing.

I'm having issue with spreading my carbs out throughout the day....I'm not hungry in the morning, but afternoon, I'm like a wild carnavore looking for food. This week...work on spreading out the carbs.

I'm dressed and ready to hit the door to go do a few business things and then come home and do some more business things and then take a break to burn up some calories and sweat out the frustration of dealing with the business things. blah....

Oh, and I put my scale away in the closet until next weekend. That should help keep me from focusing too much on it

                    Re: June 3 Roll Call

                    Good morning!

Starting my 2nd day of induction. Yesterday went quite well. Though felt totally drained. Had a two hour nap and went to bed at 8pm. Woke at 10ish with a migraine which I still have. Hoping it doesn't last too long. Know that making it through the withdrawals from the sugars and refined carbs will make me stronger and feel so much better and in charge.

Outback Jess....Good on you for working on the timing. Having a plan for all you want to accomplish. What a success you are.

Heidi...great work finding 'MY TIME' and getting it in there.

Mrs S...hope you are feeling better soon.

spiritwalker...maybe your body is just taking a break. You have lost quite a bit of weight already. Stick with it and it will come off. Check your foods into fitday just to make sure you are eating as balanced as you think. Read your labels and make sure that something isn't hidden in something that your body may be reacting too. IE: some people can drink diet soda and chew sugarless gum and others can't. Some can have an Atkins bar and others stall. So even when something is legal doesn't mean your body wants it. Good luck..you can do it!

Luvmybabies...I agree fitday can be a real eye opener. Very useful tool. BTW...I have PCOS also.

Lulubell...sounds like everything is going just right! Keep up the great work

moniegail..buddy..WOW...that is inspiring. We spend so much of our lives waiting..for the dentist...for the doctor...in line...for you to see that as an opportunity to move...truly inspiring. What a great attitude.

IamJbo...hang in there. Stick to the plan and put the scale away. Limit yourself to once a week max if the daily weighing stresses you so much. There is so much that can make our bodies fluctulate. And even if you end up starting the rungs a bit higher than you thought doesn't mean that you won't lose it there. Last time I had many whooshies while I was climbing the rungs. Stay strong.

*Lisa*...good for you for recognizing that you need to add some carbs to your morning meal. A huge part of Atkins is learning how our body works and you are doing great!

                    Be a good day everyone!!!

You don't have to be counting calories like before, but you do need to make sure you're eating enough. You want to make sure you're consuming as many calories as your BMR (how many calories you'd lose if you laid in bed all day). If you don't eat at least that your body will go into starvation mode and the weightloss will stop (I learned this the hard way...) Here's a link to where you can find out your BMR : BMR CALCULATOR

Well today's been a really rough day. Because of the pens/wings game I didn't get out of work till 2am so I wasn't able to get my evening workout in which bummed me out. The baby didn't want to sleep last night at all, so I wasn't able to get my morning workout in... Then I had an eye appointment that took all afternoon, so I couldn't make up for any lost time. I haven't been eating correctly either. I haven't cheated but I'm eating random legal stuff here and there and definately no often enough... It's been a long day. Hopefully tomorrow will be better!
