Someone has the POWER Stacers, is that you or the food? Is that you are the bed? Is that you or the late nights and no structure in your life? Who is running your life, you or all the other stuff!

    Re: Mon 6/16

Hi All! I'm back! I've been away from the board for about two months (travelling, working overtime, having guests and just generally having no time!) and I've been doing great and staying on plan until about 2 weeks ago! A holiday, DBF's birthday, guests arriving and quitting my job all happened within 2 days of each other and I totally fell off the wagon! The first couple of days was fun but since then I have just been feeling terrible! In my mind and my body! I don't know why I cheat- it never makes me feel better, only worse! So I'm back and ready to stay strong again! I feel sheepish about coming back after not being here but I've really missed this board! When I was here all the time I found that it was so much easier to stay strong, I know that I can do it and I have to be willing to do it myself but this extra support is so valuable to me. So here I am again and it's good to be back!

Outback Jess-I love your post! It's true, we all just have to decide what has more power- us or all the stuff we let sidetrack us! And once we decide that we have more power than the food and the couch and tv it becomes easier and easier to keep that power! Thanks!

No one is running my life but me! I have started doing that in the last week.. Although I wish bed was running it right now.. I slept terrible.. Couldn't get to sleep until 12:30 and got up at 6 and didn't sleep well in between. There was a HUGE family fight last night at Father's day....between my niece and my sil (Not her daughter) and it almost became a fist fight. It started over something stupid...and just went on. (And no one was drinking..so you know it was bad)

But on a good note I didn't cheat..even though one sil was begging me to try this dessert.. I so wanted to just take one bite..but I knew what would happen...it was start a binge all over again.. I was rewarded with a 2lb loss this morning..1 more lb to my lowest

morning everyone, my first official weigh in at the end of my 2 week induction, and i lost 9 lbs. YEAH!!!!! can't believe it, and i feel great. 2 weeks of cheat free induction and steady exercise for me as well. it's a major accomplishment, and only encourages me to keep it up.

        have a good day all

          Re: Mon 6/16

Oh way to go everyone! I'll never understand why other people think it's their mission in life to shove sugary crap down our gullets. It's like when we say no, they feel guilty about eating it themselves and need to force the rest of us to participate. Sigh.

Well, I thought yesterday would be hard at my parent's house, what with Father's Day and the fact they have out of town company. It was great. I looked at the chocolate cake once or twice but left it at that. I didn't even eat the strawberries since I'm still on Induction. I had been toying with the idea of doing Extended Induction after my initial 14 days was up, but I don't know. I'd really like to get those berries back, so I think I'll just head on to OWL and do the rungs like I'm suppose to. Well, I still have 4 days to make that decision I guess.

At any rate, I got home last night and felt horrible. I was in a terrible mood and picked at my poor husband (oh ya, he knows everything's his fault!) and wanted so bad to eat everything I had avoided for the last 9 days. But I was more afraid of having start all over again this morning, so I didn't do it. When I stepped on the scale this morning I was a pound down. Yeah!

Have a strong and carb controlled day everyone!

Oooh...nice mantra for the day, Jess!

            I agree with Sandy....

"No one is running my life but me"...I make the choices to fuel my body, soul, and mind. I will not give the power over to something or someone unless I choose to. I will make good choices.

I hope everyone has a fantastic morning! I was up before the sun and got in my jog/walk already. The weather should be perfect today while we head out to sight see a few places with my FIL while he's visiting. I'm making those choices to do my exercise each day.

              Re: Mon 6/16

              Good morning everyone!

I'M in control of my life, finally! It's been a long hard road to find that control again. What's up with THAT? If we could just bottle our motivation/control, we'd be millionaires! I've always said 'Where does it come from and where does it go?'. Have yet to figure that one out. All I know is I'm happy that it's back and I'm gonna hold on tighter than ever.

I had a great Father's Day. Went to my brother's house and was able to resist everything but the meat (even the Dreamsicle Pie that I made!). They had salad but crappy 'low fat' dressing, so I just ate a little of the lettuce without any dressing. Got home and had two pieces of chicken and some cherry tomatoes. Yum. So I got thru the holiday and have 5 cheat free days under my belt.

              Have a great day!

                Re: Mon 6/16

Totally agree! This is the first time I am doing this where I feel I am the powerful one in the equation. Because of this I have fewer temptations and fewer doubts, even when the scale isnt cooperating for weeks at a time. I am not sweating it--just doing what I know I need to do. It feels really different (and nice) to be in the driver's seat! Thanks, Jess

                            Aloha,
I'm with Jess, time to take charge!!
I'm here to admit that after 3 months of strictness, and little weight loss, I let up. Nothing wild or dramatic... just those occasional carbs that let one slide down the slippery slope. Well, I cannot afford that!

I'm not sure if I can loose weight this time with Atkins, but I'm bound and determined not to give up. I've got to turn this metabolism around. Today I had fasting bloodwork done for my doctor's appointment next week. I'm going to rule out all the medical excuses.

Then it is up to me to take a hard look in the mirror. I suspect that I need to up the aerobics and get my heart rate pumping.

More power to you!! to us!
