So far, smooth sailing. I've kept carbs pretty close to induction levels for the past month. I did get sacked by some hidden carbs, BBQ chicken and my MIL's coleslaw......some things are just worth it on occasion. I didn't see it coming.
I think the one big obstacle that I refuse to beat myself up over is that sometimes even with good intentions, stuff happens. I wasn't upset with myself nor did I throw up my hands and go throw back some other food I know isn't going to help me get on down the road. It happened, so did a couple light beers....on two occasions. That's life. You just pick it up where you left off. Maybe it put me a couple days longer "getting there" but I won't stress over it again, I'm guilt free.
I have lost right at 30 lb's so far. My initial goal was 50 gone by Sturgis time, the first full week in Aug. I think I can make it. If not I'll be darned close. My second phase goal was to be down 100 by the new year, '09. We're booking a cruise for all of us in January so I'm going to have to step it up, start lifting weights again and get in a bit more walking too.
It's embarrassing to say but I've never been able to bring myself to even go swimming with the kids because I'd be humiliated if I did. This is going to be a once in a lifetime vacation for us & I want to make the most of it.
I started at 313, now am 282 and ideally should be around 185 so I still have a long way to go. I feel a heck of a lot better even now though. 30 lb's ago I would get up in the morning and barely be able to walk for the first 15 feet or so, had to get warmed up. My energy level is higher and I just generally feel good about myself.
Thanks for your support, it's no diet, it's a lifestyle change.

Mine have a great way of reminding me of something "You know, mom, that's not what you really want...is it?". Yep, they know what works.
