I couldn't get on earlier! Did that happen to anyone else? Didn't know what I would do without my daily ADBB fix!!
My last day of work is today! I've managed to avoid all cake and candy brought in for my last day! Yay! Then I'm on holiday for two weeks starting tomorrow! Yay again!
Hope everyone is having a lovely day!

Re: Roll Call - 06/27
Nice loss there, Chinadoll! Congrats on the -2 pounds!
We're heading out to camp this weekend. It's going to be soooo nice! I'll get to hike and walk while DH takes the girls fishing. I'd usually go out on the boat and fish, but I just can't sit still for that long on a boat and not do anything. Besides, I think the last time they let me in the boat I played too much with the worms and they ended up having to use the bait.
The scale said 193 this morning...that's 2 pounds gone this week. I normally don't check it until Sunday, but since we'll be gone, I figured I'd check it anyways. I have mixed emotions about it, but it's 2 pounds down instead of up!
I've packed up all the foods that will keep me on the straight path with this woe. This will be the 2nd time we've gone camping and I'll be able to say "I didn't cheat or stray" because I planned things out ahead of time, made my mind up that camping is no excuse for cheating, and I can get just as much exercise if not more while out in the great outdoors. I just have to rememer three things: water, toilet paper, and bug spray
Have a great one! Play hard!~Lisa~

Re: Roll Call - 06/27
Hello everyone, glad to see we are able to get on again. Tried for a while this morning and could not log on.
I have a question for you guys. What are your thoughts on gaining muscle and it showing on the scale? Do you think that is fact? I have always heard muscle weighs more etc. I am up this morning about 1 1/2 lbs but I have really been hitting the weights at the gym. Every other day. I had all my water yesterday ate on plan??
I have two questions actually the other one is what are your thoughts on your body not wanting to go past a certain weight? As I have said in the past since leaving Atkins in January I went to a low calorie diet, then to WW then got fed up and said better go with what I know works. Now here I am. I have fluctuated between 170 and 162 for about 5 months now, I cant seem to get past that weight I have never been lower in my life except for when I was in high school before I gained all this weight.
Thanks for the info

Re: Roll Call - 06/27
Good Afternoon Everyone-
I'm very late today. My DBF and I were out last night until 2AM house hunting...well, first seeing "our" house and then writing out the offer on it. I am tired today, but mostly just incredibly excited! This will be our first home purchase if the offer is accepted. It's a little scary, but definitely going to be worth it. I can't wait to not have to pay to use a washing machine and to have a yard for our dogs to play around and for me to have a garden!
Packed the last of my Whooshie Pie and some califlower for lunch today. On plan and starting to get more energy.
Hope everyone has a great day and weekend!

Re: Roll Call - 06/27
Robin, I have read many times that our body has set points, places where maybe we sat for a while at that weight before we went up again and sometimes you can sit at that place for a while until your body moves on to the next set point. You said you have never been lower than that weight, so it might take time if you still need to lose as that could be a major set point for you but I do not think it means you will never go lower than that weight. Just be patient and keep doing what you are doing.
Also, if you are working out, then keep an eye on how your clothes are fitting because from all I have read and heard , yes, muscle is heavier than fat and if you are gaining muscle while losing weight, you might not think your are losing or you could go up a bit but actually be losing because you are putting on healthy muscle. I have lost a good amount but never worked out that hard so cannot personally comment on the muscle fat thing, but have read a lot so I think that might be what is going on, you are gaining muscle as you lose fat, so that is a good thing !!!
Just keep doing what you are doing and in time your scale should move again .
Hopefully someone with personal experience will give you some first hand advice, but I wanted to at least tell you what I have heard from others so you would have some answer today !!

Re: Roll Call - 06/27
Good evening Stacers!
I was unable to get onto ADBB this AM & it was extremely frustrating. I missed not getting my fix before starting my day!
Spent the day at a quilt show. Met some great people, bought some wonderful fabric, managed to get some walking done & stayed on track with food & H20.
DH is cooking steaks on the grill! Planning on a quiet evening!

Hi Robin!
There's a big misconception regarding the whole "muscle weighs more than fat"...
What that means is that muscle is more dense than fat. A pound of muscle weighs the same as a pound of fat, but muscle mass is more compact and only takes up 1/3 the space! If you go on a healthy weight loss program, which includes regular exercise, you will almost certainly gain muscle and lose fat. The scale may stay the same or may even go up, but you lose inches, since muscle takes up less space.
Also, your body retains water to help repair muscle, after it's been worked (torn). That's another reason your weight might be up this morn.
Keep on doing what you're doing! You're helping your body out in a HUGE way! Eventually, when the muscle really starts to replace fat, which does take a while - Longer than people think- Your #'s and your rockin 'bod will reflect all of the hard work
You're doing an awesome job - keep it up!!
