  • Roll Call 6/27

Good morning STACers. Aug. 1 it will be 2 years since I decided to come back to this diet and way of life. I lost all the weight I needed to and began to exercise and enjoy my life again. I went to Boone North Carolina this weekend to watch my husband in a road race, riding his bike 50 miles in the big mountains that Lance Armstrong use to practice in. It was incredible, and a great time. I met a gal and we took a 16 mile ride up a mountain or two and down in the most amazing valleys. An hour and a half later I was so glad I biked, brought my bike and enjoyed activity enough to not just sit in my lawn chair but to participate in the sport. I use to sit and watch the world go by, while I sat in my lethargic overweight place. Almost 2 years ago, I got up and made the committment to change my life. It has been the hardest 6 mos in the world keeping to those changes, coming back to those changes, seeking to maintain those changes. In June I will have ridden over 300 miles on my bike. Last year at this time, I was deep in triathlon training.
Loosing the weight allowed me to get back to the things in life, I really loved doing, or always wanted to try.

Great job Jess getting on your bike and riding with the other girl... Its Sunday and I have thrown my back out again I was doing so well and I ended up mopping the floor and vaccuuming(Sp?) the couches yesterday. Well that did it

I had an adjustment at the chiro on Friday.. I don't think I am going to let him touch me again.. My headaches are better but now all my pain is in my back

    I lost 2lbs this week

      Re: Roll Call 6/27

Jess, what a great lead off for roll call today. I can see myself on this same road (although I am only about halfway there from my all time high) so it is nice to know what is waiting at the end.

Sandy, I have learned the hard way how hard vacuuming is on your back. Ouch, hope you are feeling better soon.

I picked veggies from a U-pick-it farm yesterday so today I am going to feast on those fresh veggies for dinner along with some dry rubbed (no sugar) country ribs. Sounds like a good summery meal. It's a hot one here and I haven't picked my paintbrush up all summer, so I think I will paint indoors today and walk in the evening after the sun drops a bit. I need a good 7 miles or so tonight. Have a great Sunday everyone.

        Re: Roll Call 6/27

Morning everyone. I am back. I've been lazy - small cheat here and there but I would really like to get below 139 which is where I have been staying. I need to exercise to tighten up some of the flab that since the 40lbs have been lost - it doesn't automatically tighten everything back up.

I'm back on induction today - period. Even with this sinus issue I have had for it seems forever - I need to get back on track and lose these last 20lbs.

We have 2 kids from Ireland showing up today and staying for a month - funny how that isn't worrying me that much but the jiggle on my triceps bugs me to death

I'm working on cutting back on the amount of sweetzfree and cream I am using in my coffee - which though induction says no caffeine - I can't deal with that withdrawl issue right now so I will wean off that a little later. I turn into a gremlin when I don't have caffeine and I won't put that on my husband right now

          Re: Roll Call 6/27

good morning everyone, i'm having a great start to my day. i weighed in today to get a beginning weight for the 6 week challenge(normally weigh in on mondays) and i've lost 5 lbs since monday. i couldn't believe it. that's 15 total lbs lost since start of induction on June 2nd. there's something so motivating about knowing that i've stayed completely on plan and have accommplished so much.

i've got a busy week ahead of me, will be working 10 hr. shifts for the next 4 days to make up for being off for the 4th of july. i've got to get my meals all planned out, as well as snacks throughout the day. i know i won't feel up to cooking after those long shifts. so today will be grocery day and cooking day. like the old saying goes "if you fail to plan then you have planned to fail" and for me failure is not an option.

hope everyone is having a great day.
