    Good morning STACer's I was just writing this over in another post and it bares repeating, because now I am thinking all about it.
    FRAME OF MIND.

    My mindset is my greatest strength and at times my greatest weakness.
    What rolls around in my mind makes or breaks me!

    Yesterday I was in the pits exhausted and discouraged with my work. I had biked 60 miles in two days, and was worn completely out. I had not eaten my best due to the higher demand and need for food. I was exhausted and had a full day. MY FRAME OF MIND was bad!
    So I made up some rules.
    At the grochery: STICK TO THE LIST I CAN'T TRUST MYSELF HERE TODAY.
    In the House: DRINK A TON OF WATER BEFORE REACHING FOR A TREAT
    Mow the grass because I have to and it will be good exercise.
    Take a walk if things become too impossible.
    Go to the library! (staying away from food)

    Those are a few of my rules I put in place when the mood is down or I am really discouraged or exhausted. I know the warning signs. I do my best to use these tactics TO STAY IN CONTROL!

      Good for you Jess! Way to have a plan and stay on track!

      Well, I followed through with my plan yesterday. I made a menu for the entire week and spent almost 2 hours at the grocery store and another 3 hours in the kitchen last night.

      I am proud that I made an outstanding eggplant lasagne for dinner last night and drank all my water. I also made DBF anf myself breakfast this morning and packed our lunches. Being prepared is 9/10th's of the battle!

      I am a little discouraged that I don't have a mixer. I picked out recipes for oopsie rolls, waffles, anf french toast but can't make them correctly because as much as I tried I couldn't whip the egg whites by hand

      Since I already bought everything to make these items, and we all know food isn't cheap, I'm off to buy an inexpensive hand held at Linens and Things after work. After that, it's roller blading!

        Checking in too. It's hard to find this thread sometimes -- I'm new here.

        My horror story for the day: I boiled 2 eggs to take to work with me this morning. I got to work and decided to mix it all up. I reached for my familiar white jar with the blue lid of mayo. I chopped my pickles, mixed it all together, and licked the spoon. YUCK!! It was NOT my mayo. It was ... gasp ... argh... salad dressing. Someone had switched them. I hate salad dressing. I walked over to the trash and threw it all away. I was angry for a little while and didn't know what to do about lunch -- no money or time to get anything else.

        Then I had an epiphany!! <swell music here> I didn't NEED to eat a full meal. <gasp> I would NOT starve to death before 5pm <sigh> That is when I realized that I had a part of the dill pickle left, a diet Ginger Ale, & a carton of SF jello. That would hold me over until I got home for dinner. It was a proud moment.

          Thanks for you inspiring words Jess. It came right when I needed it. I've been having a really rough time with work and it's the cause of all my stress and I just don't know how to get over it.

            Hey, all y'all!

            Well, it was a good day. Very Very low carb, in fact I wonder if I should be eating more carbs. Better problem to have than too many, I guess. I have to FORCE myself to get the water in though. YUCK

            Jess, WAY YEAH! 60 miles, that's amazing! Can you give me some of your motivation?

            kmrsaik, can you post that recipe for the eggplant lasagna? That sounds wonderful. And good for you for getting your food ready. That was such an important lesson I learned last time around, be prepared so your not scrounging around & susceptible to the carb crap.

              Well I haven t ever really checked in but I believe this is my 3..4...5 time around on Atkins Happy to say that so for on day three I have a 6 lb lost not going to change my tracker till my official weigh in day...Sunday...something might change between now and then...Hopefully more weight melting off...smile...Anyway hello every one...Look forward to getting to know all ove you this time around.

                Your words are very real and encouraging! Thanks. This is my second time around. I am down 9lbs and trying to move forward. Thanks again, I am going to hang around here and post more often.

                  Me too, Irish...I agree. Thanks, Jess. I've moved on to OWL, but I still read every now and then. It really helps through the stressful times.
