  • Snacks for my beach trip

So I'm going to the beach tomorrow until Sat with three of my buddies from grad school.

We do this every summer and we eat like pigs.

I went shopping today and I made tuna salad, chicken salad, egg salad, and fried some sausage patties. I also have pork rinds, cheese sticks, and deli turkey, and dill pickles.

    What did I forget?

Thanks! I won't take that with me, though. That's what I'll eat when we eat out.

I know when I go to the beach I love burgers...I love them all the time actually. I'd make up some and put them in a tupperware (because who wants to cook at the beach). You can even make enough for everyone if you want. Then they can do the bun thing and you can wrap yours up in some lettuce with cheese and spices or eat plain with a fork. Breakfast is easy whether you cook in or buy out...cause there's always eggs bacon and sausage if you don't feel like getting creative. Maybe consider making a large salad when you get there...you'll need your lettuce! I also enjoy celery with dip (cream cheese, a touch of sour cream, some salt, pepper, onion powder, chives, etc...whatever herbs you like)

        Have a great time!

THis sounds great. The hotel has a grill for guests to use so I'll do some burgers. We're stopping at Publix when we get there and I'll get some celery and cream cheese then.

I fried up some sausage patties earlier and put that in a container. They're sitting in the fridge next to my tuna/egg/chicken salads.

I have put a death threat on my husband that he better check with me first before he eats ANYTHING.

Well, how about deviled eggs? I love my hard boiled eggs too. They travel so well too.

I never knew about jicama until ADBB either. HOLY CANOLI it's so good.

Nuts, if you are to that rung.

Jill, thanks for the suggestions. I absolutely love deviled eggs. I have to make them, though because most people put sugar in the mix.

I'm on Day One and one of my "forever" goals is going to be giving up nuts. I don't have a moderation button when it comes to nuts. I love them.

They are probably the reason that I DON'T weigh a lot more. I'll reach for them instead of cake or cookies or anything like that but I eat way too many of them at one sitting. You know?
