    Well, it is making you aware of your pulse, blood pressure, or other measurable body functions, and then teaching you how to alter those measurements through breathing and conscious efforts to relax, etc. It is used for stress, blood pressure, panic attacks...

    Practical Example: when I do cardio on the elliptical I often hit my high end of my target heart rate. By deep breathing and trying to relax my shoulders, etc. I can drop my heart rate by up to 10 beats per minute at will.

      VERY interesting. I may look into this. I have used perscription medication to alleviate panic attacks for many years. Thanks for the response!
