  • Roll Call 7/12

    It's a sunny day at the Jersey shore. I am hoping to catch up on some household chores today and then do some lower leg work. I have been wlking a bunch this summer but my legs are "jiggly" so I need to get back with my squats and other legwork.

    Today is my weigh in day and last week I had hit a couple crummy low days and didn't weigh in. I had been eating 2400 calories a day and not exercising so I figured for sure I had gained. I also had a soy marinated beef recipe last night so I know I am retaining some water. I got on the scale expecting a gain, or at least no change, and I was thrilled to see I am down another pound in spite of an off week! Yippee!

    Jill don't you just love getting a nice surprise when you get on the metal monster!! Enjoy the beautiful day!

    Off to run errands with DD & out to lunch. Beautiful day here in VT & am looking forward to walking this afternoon. MP3 player is fully charged & ready to go!

      Good morning everybody. I just did a mini triathlon with girls I am training with, as we prepare for our big race in Sept. It was really a great experience, and yet now I am sore from head to toe!

        Hi. This is my second time with Atkins. I am about 5 pounds from where I stopped last time. I am now starting to get nervous that I will gain it all back again. Last time (2006) I started eating junk again after a very bad, emotional experience. This time I am so determined to stay the course. And this time I have this board to keep me on track! I feel truly blessed to have found it.

          I wore my pedometer for the last two days and have realized how stagnate I have become since my knee surgery. True, I can't really "walk the track" or anything, but I do burn it up on the gazelle . It really made me look at where I am now fitness wise compared to where I was before the knee surgery working at a wilderness camp and walking 6-8 miles a day...there is no wonder I'm a fat cow...I don't do anything!

            Tracee, you are stronger now for the experience and you've learned from it! You will be successful this time!
            Vindicateddunn, You had knee surgery! Of course you aren't where you were before! but you will be again once you heal... Give yourself permission to heal! And stop calling yourself names! That is great that you are doing the gazelle.

            Today is our 22 year anniversary. After I go to water aerobics this am, we are going over to the coast for a nice walk on the beach and lunch at Jakes... a nice restaurant in Del Mar with yummy salads. We are just going to spend the day together.

            Yesterday I stayed the course and stuck to induction. I feel great about that and feel it will be no problem to do it again today as Jakes has a lovely assortment of salads and fish... and I'm determined!

            It's a bit overcast here on the west coast, and humid. (What are clouds?) We aren't used to that kind of weather....

                I'm here! Busy day at school, and we are going to the movies tonight. We are going to Wall-E, and I am making the 'just like Cheese it crackers' from Linda's site. I am going to smuggle them into the show, I am NOT eating popcorn and candy like I usually do. Have a great night all!!

                  Hi all, Boy, I had a bad night last night sleep wise, and was groggy all day until I took a nap. Now I feel better but I just hate those sleepless nights. I'm not even sure I ate lunch, I guess I'm still 'out of it'. I did exercise this morning though so that's a good thing because if I hadn't, I would be even worse. Tomorrow's another day.

                    murphy'smom - its a cute movie. I have gone to several movies this summer and I always feel left out not eating popcorn- Thanks for the cheezits idea. Next time I will have a snack of my own.

                        Um, I don't understand that last post! LOL

                        We just got back from Wall-E. It was soo good!!! I wasn't even tempted by the popcorn and candy. My own snack was very good. I saved all my cheese allowance today, but I only took two slices worth. They lasted a long time. Have a great day!

                          I had a decent day today. 2 of my daughters and I went to the Farmer's Market. We bought a zucchini, tomatoes, radishes and cucumbers. I got pretty much all of my laundry done today. That by itself is an accomplishment!

                          I haven't been able to exercise much and it is frustrating me. I went for a long walk in the wrong shoes a few weeks ago and ended up with a heel spur. I bought some inserts for my shoes to help with that pain and now I have pain in my hip and knee on that side, too. I like to walk but it's pretty much out of the question now until everything heals up.
