    Good Morning Ladies!

    Feeling great today. Last night, I started a work-out DVD I bought months ago. It's called "30 Day Shred" and it's by Jillian Michaels (the female trainer on The Biggest Loser). The DVD has Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 workouts, each 20 minutes long. They are all the same format: brief warm-up, 3 circuits of 3 min strength training using upper and lower body at the same time, followed by 2 minutes cardio (stuff like jumping jacks, jump rope without the rope, etc.), and 1 minute of ab work. It ends with a few minutes of cool down. Sounds simple, but I was sweating my tush off in the first few minutes (on Level 1) and my entire body is sore today. I consider myself in "decent" shape so I was excepting to glide through Level 1 and move right into Level 2, but I think I'll be staying at Level 1 for at least a week. I HIGHLY recommend trying this DVD!

    Forgot to mention: All you need for this workout is a small amount of floor space (enough for push-ups and ab work on the floor) and a set of dumbells (I used the same ones for each exercise that required weights).

      I'd have to figure out how to work the DVD player.

      At the end of May, I decided to take up running at 38 years old having never exercised a day in my life.

      about.com has an eight week beginning running program. It involves running for a little bit and walking a little bit and eventually upping the ratios to more running and less walking.

      Then I came upon a Three Weeks to Thirty Minutes on about.com. They send an email each day. I got started on that soooooo

      today was 4minutes running/1 minute walking for six times. That with a six minute walking warm up and a six minute cool down. Felt good.

      Tonight I'll walk for 30-45 minutes at a brisk pace. My husband said he and the dog want to go with me so we'll see.

        Your running program sounds a lot like C25K. A lot of folks around here have become runners through that program. Good for you to get on the exercise wagon.

        I have tried to walk with my DH but his pace is just too slow for me. LOL So I consider walking with him an enjoyable stroll and do my exercise walking solo.

        This morning I got up and trained shoulders, biceps and triceps. I will do abs and walk later.

          I've not heard of C25K. I'll have to look it up. Any links?

          My husband walks fast and whoever is holding the leash walks even faster. My dog is a monster. Maybe once I kick this weight, I'll work on training the dog....

          Last week at the beach, I walked with my friends. They may as well have been laying on the couch. But I'm almost 5'11" and I have loooong legs. They can't keep up with me...

            My husband was in track in high school and wants to start running again for aerobic health. (he only needs to lose about 5lbs). We ordered customized Nike running shoes (expensive motivation) And we're going to start running. Not together because our schedules are really different and he can run circles around me, but we're getting the Nike chip that lets you track your mileage. We're going to have weekly competitions for mileage. I haven't jogged in about 9 years, so its going to take some getting used to, but I'm excited about it. My shoes should be arriving any day now!

                    Oh, thanks for the link. I just walked for fifty minutes this evening on top of my run program this morning. I feel great. I did an hour and a half total today and probably seven miles.

                      hi i am here. made an amazing cesar salad for dinner. the best part is i know exactly every ingredient that i put in my mouth! so glad to say that i have two "clean" days in. i am going to slice up some veggies to take to work tomorrow. have a great evening.

                        Good Morning! oops, it's night time... how'd that happen?
                        Well, finished day 5 of induction. Was a little bummed because the scale went up a .5lb today... but what can you expect after losing 6lbs in 4 days... not really concerned... but I guess I had my whooshie...it was fun while it lasted... now the hard part begins. Slow but steady wt loss. Feels good to be back in control of my eating and back on a plan.
                        Just finished a nice walk with dh and our monster dog.
