  • I'd Like To Start Again

I have had some major, major issues these past 6 months. I suffered with Plantar Faciitis and was told by the Dr. to stay off my feet as much as possible. Absolutley no cardio. I have since had a shot of cortizone in each foot and now feel a whole lot better. I've had marriage difficulties to where I just wanted to bang my head against a wall. . Things seem to be getting better and I'd like to try Atkins again. I'd like to be able to focus this time and not constantly be worrying about something else. I just saw on the news where a study was done and Atkins is actually the better diet as far as weightloss, lowering cholestorel etc.. I am probably going to get groceries tomorrow, so I will start then. My goal is to eventually lose 30 to 35 lbs. For now, I'll settle for 5.

It's really hard to focus on this when you have bigger problems in other areas eating away at you too. Best wishes for a clean fresh start and here's hoping you can focus on Atkins without interruptions for awhile.

Plantar Faciitis.....i know this problem all too well. i had problems last year with it, and luckily didn't have to have the injections. it did get better, but staying off my feet was not an option for me so it took some time. i started having problems again recently, and decided to get some arch supports from a place called the "good feet store". they have been a godsend. my feet rarely ever bother me since using them.

i hope you find some relief soon, i know how hard it is to concentrate on anything else when your feet are killing you. getting on the Atkins plan and losing weight should help in relieving some of the pain also.

i wish you much success as you begin your journey.

I've done the orthodics, therapy etc. Cortizone was the only thing that helped. I used to do HIIT cardio on the treadmill and lost 10 lbs., but I'm half afraid to try it again. PF was so painful. My Dr. says the next step is surgery and I don't want to chance that.

              Hi Mary Ann!

Atkins is definitely the way to go if you're looking for a lifelong way of eating better, losing weight, and maintaining optimal health. Here's a recent article you may want to read about Atkins: Atkins Nutritional - The Science Behind Atkins It is really the best way to go! And the best time to start is tomorrow... after you rid your home of all the carb-laden foods and after you get yourself a copy of Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution (2002 edition). Keep us posted on what you're doing. I think you'll find that this forum is a great means of support, especially in the beginning.

              Best of Success!
