  • I didn't cheat!

    We camped from Thursday until Monday with a friend. They had s'mores every night and ice cream twice along with a whole bunch of junk food.

    And I didn't cheat. Not once! The closest I came was having my DH order me a Diet cola. I drank about a half a cup and dumped the rest out. It just doesn't taste as good as water.

    And we swam and hiked and climbed sand dunes. Lots of exercise.

      I have a worrisome situation coming up, mid August I have to go to a conference/exposition for two days out of town for work.

      They feed us like crazy. The desserts are unbelievable. Last year the theme was 'Mardi Gras' with lots of gumbo and fried foods. Lots of rice dishes and breads. The second morning they were short on breakfast foods and the only thing to eat was donuts and juices, no lie! They made up for that at lunch and dinner...

      So figuring what I can take in a cooler. Boiled eggs, easy......other meals I will just have to look for meats and salads!

        I am disappointed because, when I stood on the scale this morning, it doesn't reflect the hard work I've been doing. In fact, it says....stupid thing...that I gained 3 pounds. I'm assuming it's just a fluctuation and it'll be gone in the next few days, but it's disheartening to not have the scale reflect your hard work.

          Zoewmu, Yay! Congrats on not cheating! Scale gain can be a real pain but remember it can be due to either TOM, salty foods, retention due to exercise. Being able to carry on despite this is a great sign that you can cope when it gets tougher later on

          Momtomany - Conferences can be tough. Boiled eggs are a great idea. Individually wrapped cheese, cherry tomatos and pre cut celery sticks have all worked well for me on trips. Nuts too, if on that rung.
