I'm really struggling to reach the fat levels that are recommended. I tend to dip below 60% a lot, and I'd like to be more like 70%. The reality is that I can't seem to work in much in the way of fats. I don't much like salad dressing, I add olive oil to veggies whenever possible but that's not a ton. I use butter when I cook but even then I can't stand tons of it
So what the heck can I do? I eat skin on the chicken when it's there, I love bacon, but man... I have GOT to find ways to get more fat in. Any suggestions?

Re: Need suggestions for adding fat
coconut oil. just eat a teaspoon of it at the start of your meals that are lacking fat. it's not bad, and even LESS bad if you have it with a piece of meat or something that's already somewhat fatty.the big atkins re-start on july 14/08...

Interesting... never would have thought of that! Do you get the Extra Virgin coconut oil? I'll have to look around and see if I can find it locally or if I need to order it online.Paul

Re: Need suggestions for adding fat
I struggled with adding fat to my eating when I first started. Every other diet I had tried said to get away from FAT. But, fat is crucial to the Atkins equation. Lately I have been adding avocado when I eat meat. I take a medium and add lime juice to it and have a modified quacamoli. Yummy! Keep at it!sigpic

Re: Need suggestions for adding fat
Paul, look for roasted walnut oil. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this stuff! It's awesome as a salad dressing, or to cook veggies in. La Tourangelle: Walnut Oil, Hazelnut Oil, Almond Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Sesame Oil, Olive Oil, Organic Sunflower Oil, Organic Canola Oil, White Truffle Oil, Black Truffle Oil, Pecan Oil, Pistachio Oil, Pumpkin Seed Oil, Trio of Oils
It has the added benefit of being an Omega 3!! WOOHOO~Joy

But I did find some EVCO at GNC, so I'll give that a try.
