  • Morning peeps, roll call 8/15

A bit groggy this morning from staying up late with hubby, (he missed me!) happy to be home from my little trip still in ketosis! A 2 pound loss, not a bit discouraged, I will take 2 pounds a week, I think that would be just peachy. I wasn't able to fit in a lot of exercise this week, between trip and TOM and all...

The cool thing was, in the past I would have come back from that trip 2 lbs heavier! (We do this every year.) And I felt so much better wearing those awesomely awful yellow-green neon polos they gave us, with less pudgy love handle inside, than I would have otherwise. Actually.... I felt quite wonderful, confident, attractive. The color of our shirts we realized.. was HIGHLIGHTER. Paired with a nicely fitting black skirt and nice pumps, I was comfortable and happy. We learned a lot and had some fun too, and I got to swim on the top floor of the Hilton in a saline pool at sunset and watch the stars come out, instead of sit around wallowing in a fog of dessert induced stupor!

So.. I am having a good day! Hope ya'll do too!

    Fill Up on Fiber
How do you know if you're getting enough fiber in your diet? Well, kids, there are a couple of pretty obvious symptoms if you're not:
    1. You're constipated. Ouch, I know, but it's true. You should be having at least three bowel movements a week. If not, chin up and try adding more fiber-filled foods, like fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, to your diet and see if that doesn't fix the plumbing!
    2. You're hungry a lot. Well, you could be hungry for a number of reasons, including emotional ones, but fiber is also a legitimate suspect. Fiber helps you feel full, and if you're not getting that warm, fuzzy feeling of fullness, it may be because you need to eat more... you guessed it: fruits, veggies, and whole grains.
So fiber can help keep you regular and make you feel full. The FDA also considers it to be a powerful fighter against cancer, diabetes, and heart disease as well as digestive disorders and obesity.

As a general rule, you should eat as many veggies and as much salad as you possibly can (dressing is on the side, please!) because this will make you feel full and keep you from overeating other, more fattening foods. Fill up! Monday's Tip: You're Worth It

Wow Daisy, my daughter found a little brown scorpion in her bedroom a couple of weeks ago, the first we had ever seen. She scooped him up with a wallet to bring to show me, I was like are you crazy? Drop the whole thing in the tub! there I trapped and dispatched him. Hoping not to see any more! Are you sure you are alright? I hear those things really hurt!

It was better then Bday cake and all the goodole southern food I passed up. :0) still loseing a lil at a time but loseing all the same. Monday I will begin week 5

Re: Morning peeps, roll call 8/15

It was just the standard east texas type that hurt but aren't posionous. (I googles scorpion bites and decided to stay out of Arizona). We live in a sandy area and they have been ecspecially bad this year. We went to Lake Tawokoni to the state park and found leeches in the lake this year too. The park rangers said that the leeches and scorpions were bad this year. We live like 3 miles from the park so lovely we have them too.
An old remedy is to crush an aspirin mix with some baking soda make a thick paste and apply. It really hurt when it happened but not at all now.
Just in case anyone ever needs to know.
By the way, don't kill the scorpion inside your home. It draws scorpions, better to flush the rascal.
Anyway, it was an exciting morning.
Going to work tonight. I'm sure the day will only get better!

Re: Morning peeps, roll call 8/15

ugh, scorpions...horrifying! my friend's DH used to breed them. so nasty.

I'm here, down another inch, not down any lbs. I don't get it. I'm still getting smaller, apparently, even though I feel puffy and water retention-y the past couple of days. I wonder if it's from the coconut flour I started eating again? it has a ton of fiber in it. I've been drinking a LOT of water too, so there is no earthly reason why I should be retaining.

but I digress yet again...I'm still a bit smaller. hooray for that.
