  • Hi everyone in the STAC

    Hi everyone,

Chicklady was so kind to invite me over here so here I am back on Atkins the second time around ....

Well 8 years ago I lost 60 lbs on Atkins and was so proud of myself ... and guess what I gained it all back and some on top ....

Once I reached my goal the first time around ... I went right back to Carbs ... and thought ... well you will watch the amount of food ... right completly getting into Amnesia and ignoring the fact that the Carbs are my enemy...

I kept telling other people to try Atkins but did not take my own advise .... Anyhow as I was unable to hide the weight anymore lately , and I had enough looking at me in the mirror ... I decided that something had to be done I read the book again and off I go now ... Day 5 of Induction .. feeling great ... and happy that I am going for my goal , and fully in Ketosis ...

My goals for the next 12 month :
    1. Loose the weight
    2. Keep it off
    3. Quit Smoking
    4. Prepare for a Marathon and then run it some time next year...

Guys could I get your help to keep kicking me in my butt to stay on it ... I know myself ... hehe

Well that was it for the beginning ....

    Have an awesome day

Re: Hi everyone in the STAC

Hey Chris, welcome to STAC, we are very glad to have you. I think your story is similar to most of ours....alot of us have been here and back more than a few times. Our bodies are trying to teach us that we have metabolic issues that will not go away, once we loose the weight. We process carbs poorly, and we or should I say I, am pretty addicted to them, once I get going!
We are glad you are here. I am glad you have a list of goals to shoot for. I did too, my #1 goal was to be here in a year, to create a lifestyle that can support and sustain weight loss.
I've gone on to participating in alot of fitness and sports. Training now for another triathlon and recently did a half century bike ride....Unfortunately with endurance sport and training carbs are a must and I lost control of that! So I too am back and well into induction, day 10 for me!
