  • Temptation's

I think i've just about cracked it.
10 day's in now, and any temptation's to dive into the fridge or kitchen cupboard and getting stuck in to some of the goodies that are there for the rest of the family seem to be fading.
My appetite isn't the same either and craving's for certain thing's are not the same.
This was what happened the last time i did the Atkin's.

Has anybody else experienced the same?

    Re: Temptation's

yea, I do. I don't crave the sweets anymore. I can get my kids their snack and not even think about having one for myself. Once in a while I'll still want something but I think its more out of habit than an actual craving. Usually when I'm craving something now its an actual meal, I have only been eating 3 meals a day no snacks so if I'm hungry its usually meal time.

I think that is the best part of this diet, especially for us sugar-fiends and carb-addicts...

The best thing for those urges is diminished appetite. I dont know if thats because your body is now burning your own fat <and its no wonder im not hungry, cause there's PLENTY of fuel in that sense LoL>, or you've settled into an eating pattern, but maaan it sure helps.

I would watch out for your jello though as its usually sweetened with aspartame, which is a CRAZY substance, and I've noticed it increases my whispering cravings

I don't go completely mad on it, but i like it to be there all the same.
The last time i did the diet i was losing a good 2lb a day. The only problem i found was that if i had more than 20gm's of carb's a day the weight was staying put.

Do you think the jello might have been playing a part in this?

The first thing I always notice is my difference in appetite... I basically just don't have one.

              Re: Temptation's

Ooooh yeah definitely...im on day 6 and feel soooo full...i even woke up this morning not really hungry and i had to force myself to eat breakfast....my sweettooth has definitely disappeared for now at least...and Im hoping will never come back.

I love the in control feeling I get....I hate the out of control feeling that takes me swirling for chocolate and candy and ice cream and cakes....and I can't help it.

This is great...This is really the way to live. Good bye temptations, Hello beautiful body.

Ketosis diminishes the appetite, physically and we all work hard on the mental appetite that we can struggle with. Keep eating variety so you don't get bored, avoid trigger locations that make you want that something special. Make sure you measure yourself, and watch out for those days you are really tired, or something emotional happens and brings you down, THAT'S when the food demons come to get us!

                    Re: Temptation's

It could have been, but most likely it was because you were eating more than 20 carbs a day, and you were still on induction I assume?

Also, I think they TYPE of carbs does matter. I love that jello says it has no carbs, but truly, it could. Company's dont have to list carb counts under .09 per serving, so imagine why the serving sizes are the way they are LoL

I found that having extra carbs in a day, and especially aspartame on top of it, made me not lose.

Doesn't mean I dont indulge once in a while. I have jello maybe once every 2 months.. I'm sure once a week couldnt hurt

No appetite here, either ... keep having to remind myself to eat; never thought that would happen! I'm in my third week of Induction; staying with it for awhile longer because my metabolism tends to be sluggish. I feel fine. Walking daily, doing crunches, and bicep curls with 5-lb. weights, drinking 64 oz. (or more) of water, eating greens, taking vitamins. First time in years I've felt in control ... it feels good!

Over the period of 3 month's of doing the diet the first time, even during the later stages, i found that if i had more than 20 gm's a day thing's would slow right down.
Although i paid very close attention to what carb's i was eating, i was drinking quite a lot of 'sugar free' very low carb diluting juice. It also contained aspartame.
Possibly a combination of the juice and the jello had something to do with it?
Anyway, i shall restrict my intake of jello and the juice has gone, being replaced by sparkling spring water.
After my stint on induction i would like to look forward to a few more green's, when before, it wasn't a good idea!
