How long does it take to break the addiction? I never get past that 6-day mark. Pathetic, I know, but it's true. I'm so tired of fighitng all the time.
Have you ever read any books about positive self talk? I found some of them to be very enlightening. Your brain is like a computer, it responds to YOUR programming. You can override negative thoughts like 'I never get past the 6 day mark' but you have to do it by replacing it with positive thoughts like, 'this time I know I can get past 6 days, after all, I am in control, not food!' It all starts in the mind. Make a point to start turning ever negative thought around, 'overwrite' all those downer thoughts. Think, 'it is a battle, but I am tough and capable and I can win!' You WILL believe whatever you consistently tell yourself.
Generally, once I am in ketosis I soon stop caring about carbs. Once my head clears, and it always does once I am not eating sugars, I wonder, why did I ever start eating those carbs again? Please hang in there long enough for that wonderful, clearheaded feeling to hit you. It is a marvel, and you CAN do it. Take the 'can't' out of your vocabulary!
It is a challenge to change habits! Trust me I struggle with the same negativity too! But, it is so TRUE...Once you are in Ketosis....Awhhhhh, what a blissful feeling and all of a sudden YOU WILL BE IN CONTROL. After that, every now and again, your mind will try to trip you up...this is where you must DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT and you will be RIGHT BACK IN CONTROL AGAIN. It's not easy at first, but it DOES get easier. I've struggled with the bad thoughts and starting just to start over again, but this time I am on track and have made a decision to NOT let food and carbs run my life anymore. I stay prepared in my mind all day with thoughts that are positive.
We may not be at our goal or even reached or mini goals yet, but rest assured WE WILL AND WE CAN!
Hugs for you!
