Yesterday, I was very sore. Sucked it up and went to spin class to work some out - it helped. Today, I'm a little better, although I won't be running - I figure I'll hop on a bike or the elliptical when I go to the gym later.
Kiddie #2 has his preschool open house today -we start 3x a week preschool next week - yahoooooooooooo! Kiddie #3 gets to stay home with me for another year - poor kid
Body is still holding onto some water from Sunday's fun - although 107 aint half bad I'll be glad when I'm back to normal.

Sodium 101
You know sodium best as table salt, but salt and sodium are hidden in all kinds of products, including packaged, frozen, canned, and fast foods, condiments, and many others. Excess sodium can raise your blood pressure and slow your metabolism.
Your body needs a steady flow of water in and out to effectively metabolize your fat. If the water gets dammed up in your cells, it will slow your metabolism and, therefore, your ability to burn fat. As if that wasn't the worst of it, it'll also leave you puffy and bloated!
Now, don't make yourself crazy over this, because there is sodium in everything — you can't avoid it. Just be conscious of it and minimize it where you can. Here are some tips to get you started:
Read labels to check the sodium content of the food you are eating.
Replace processed foods with fresh foods.
Avoid prepackaged and canned foods.
Be wary of sodium-laden condiments (soy sauce, mustard, and table salt).
Go easy on the dairy.
Cut down on processed meats (hot dogs, jerky, bologna, corned beef).
Watch out for miso, tofu, and canned or smoked seafood.
Steer clear of anything pickled (including capers, sauerkraut, and relish).
Consider salt-free flavoring alternatives, like garlic, lemon, olive oil, vinegar, pepper, and spices.

I am here. Back after two crazy mixed up weeks but I am back. The short form: cruise. Son got into Syracuse but no housing. Went to look for housing. No Housing. Came home and had guests for two days. Other son needed emergency appendectomy. Sorted out visa for China. Had more guests. Traveled.
I am exhausted and in need of my normal routine! Yesterday was the first day all the pieces were back in place. but I am finally back and feel like I have a minute to catch up.
Thanks Green Eggs for looking out for me! Jill

"I've never come home after a workout and said, MAN, I wish I had NOT exercised today!"
Checking in, just finished my morning walk and swim.
Just got a new irl friend on induction and helping her through the first few days of crazies. It's great to have someone right here with me to buddy with during this change of lifestyle.
Cool! The friend I loaned my book to is going to join me doing Atkins. We discussed it and think next Thurs/Fri would be her best bet for a start date, so she can do her first yucky days over the weekend. This weekend won't work because it is her anniversary, and think it best she doesn't try to face a challenge like restaurants first thing. She doesn't have as much to lose as I do, probably 25 pounds or so.
