  • Sept 1 Roll Call

    Wow, another month has arrived. Good morning STACers.
    How bout setting a goal for this month? I use to set mini goals for exercise.
    A great goal is commit to a number of days a month for exercise.
    Maybe 3 times a week x 4 weeks....12 times/mo
    Maybe 5 times a week x 4 weeks... 20 times/mo

    I got a fitness bike my first year on Atkins and I decided to ride 100 miles/mo.
    It was really tough for me. I really had to stretch myself hard. I even fell behind and re-factored it all together at the end and did like 3 days of 10 miles ea to meet my goal.

    When all was said and done, I was in a better place having set a goal and worked hard towards it. Even if I did not make it completely to that goal, I was not in the same place as when I started.
    Goals take us forward! Move us past ruts and inactivity. They need to be challenging, but achieveable and on a time line...
    Sept is a great month for most of us to get up and out and take full advantage of the fall.

    Hi Everyone.. I know I have been missing...but I haven't been doing well.. I am not doing Atkins right now...May go back to it.. But since school starts tomorrow.. I plan on doing my Water Aerobics again.. at least until I get a job... So this week I am going Tuesday and Thursday for a start

      Good morning to all and Happy Labor Day! Just had my first weigh in since starting Atkins Aug. 1 ... 12 lbs. GONE ... yay! Going to join a gym this week, too ... need more than just the walking and stretching. Jess, you are so right ... setting goals is the key to staying motivated!

        Good morning everyone! Yes, Jess, a goal would be exactly what I need, because I have NOT been exercising much at all. Today I'm going to move my dusty exercise bike out of the corner and see what I can come up with for a monthly goal. I've always fantasized about being fit enough to do a 100 mile bike ride/race -- so why not make a 100 mile monthly goal? That's less than 4 miles a day!

          After a week of being a slug I've got back on track with my goal of exercising 4x weekly. Also back on track with eating after 2 days of being derailed in carbville. Day 3 of detox & man what a headache!

            Good morning group! Pilates did not work well at all for me. I will put it away for a few months unless I find a 'true beginner' Pilates dvd. My abs hurt 10 minutes in, and they were doing things I could not dream of doing.. roll from a lying down positon to a sitting position with just core strength. I don't think I even have core strength.

            I'll go back to my walk aerobics and hula dance dvds for now!

            I am making it to the gym three days a week, over an hour exercise each time, so will continue that as well as adding in the home exercises. It really lifts my day.. and getting into smaller and smaller dresses really lifts my whole psyche!

            Have a super day all, and stay safe. We expect tropical storm conditions tomorrow... wow I hope the lights don't go out.. I am dependent on my computer!

              I'm here and a happy hello to fellow stac'ers!! I'll join up on the exercise challenge. I'm going to 5 times a week on the ole treadmill.

                Morning all!

                Good to see you Sandy - take care of yourself!

                You're right Jess - goals are key. My biggest goal is to be able to look at myself and not rip on every imperfect part of my body. I know I have worked hard - I should be proud of what I have done - still a bit self-depricating - I'm working on it

                Not too much happening here... I am interested in a business that is for sale. Hopefully tomorrow I can go take a look at it and see if I like. We'll see!

                On my way to the gym for a run followed by Body Combat class (I think) I punch like such a wuss, I feel like a total dingbat.

                  I'm here - day 7 for me. I'll set some goals for the month - right now, my goal is to do my abs dvd 3 times a week and walk every day. My real goal, to feel up to starting my Slim in 6 dvd's before the end of the month. All depends on my foot.

                        Hey all! I'm back from a camping trip over the weekend. It was the biggest test I've had in a very long time. There was a sweets table to die for! And I didn't touch a single thing. I like what Jess had to say about exercising. I'm starting school again tomorrow and I want to make the goal of exercising 4x/week. I have an elliptical and a ton of different dvds. So, between them, I'm going to get my butt moving! I hope everyone had a great day!

                          Good morning and sorry I missed the Roll Call yesterday. I just figured out how you do things in this group, since I've only been a member for a few days. Anyway, I'm not doing well at all, but I do know why ... hidden carbs and not re-reading the Atkins book.

                          My husband and I lost very well on Atkins, five years ago, but we were fools to think that we could remember all the rules without studying. As a result, our first week has been a total bust. I've only lost 1 lb! But we're back on track now.

                          Exercise is going to be really hard on me in the beginning, but I know I've got to do it. (never have been into sweating) For me, exercise is more difficult than giving up carbs.

                          Here are my stats, and I'm going to figure out how to put them in my signature:

                          HW: 198
                          SW: 180
                          CW: 179
                          GW: 150

                            Heya,

                            i totally agree with you guys, im gonna exercise atleast 3 times a week for an hour which includes 30 minute walking and running. I signed up for the Gym yesterday and i went today morning and im feeling good!!!

                              Kapi gal,
                              atleast you know where you went wrong which is good. I think you should start slowly when it comes to exercising and bump it up from there.
