    Morning everyone! Feeling good today Getting ready to head out with the kids, have lots of stuff to do today. Day 10 here, just trucking along!

    Morning all!

    Busy day today - going to the gym to train for my 1st triathalon - whoohoo! Lunch with some pals, errands, playgroup with the chitlins -OY!

    So here are the details on my new feat:

    2008 INDOOR SPRINT TRIATHLON
    Swim + Bike + Run

    This event is free for members and will be held on Saturday, September 20th.
    The entire race will be completed inside the club and each participant will sign up for waves starting at 7:00 am. The first event is the 200-yard swim and it will be completed at the indoor lap pool. After completing the swim, come through the locker room to dry off, change and then immediately head to the bikes upstairs. After completing the 12-mile bike portion, jump on a treadmill and run 3.1 miles to finish the race.
    Challenge yourself, grab a friend and sign up at the member services desk today.

    I only have 16 days to train and I'm a little freaked out. I don't expect my time to rock, but I do want to finish to say that I did it... The swimming doesn't worry me at all - that's the easy part, it's going from bike to run. I am in one of my non-running phases. I'm sure once the adreneline kicks in, I'll be able to run no problem! (I have to tell myself this, otherwise i'll psych myself out...)

    Also! Here are a couple of pics from my hike up Pikes Peak with my pals. I'm the vertically challenged one in the pink tank top.





    I'm ready to go up there again! Now that I know what to expect, I don't think it will be as bad (recovery wise) as last time

      Mornin' everyone! Day 10 on induction (but I don't count the first week because I wasn't counting and tracking carbs effectively). So in my second week I've lost 2.5 lbs. Woohoo!!!

        Quick question about updating Tickers: how do you update the weight, without having to rebuild the entire Ticker?

          good morning!

          up and still feeling a bit icky today. I wish I could just stay home and sleep it off, but apparently I'm too money-oriented despite my assertions to the contrary. ha! off to work. then home, then skating, hopefully!

            First..Great job Colleen on your hike and your plans to do the race I know you can do it..

            I went to water aerobics this week.. did my 2 days.. going to do that for a couple of weeks and then start adding a day up to 4 days.. I already feel so much stronger in 2 days... So that is a good sign.

            I will be gone all weekend for a scrapbook weekend.. I am so excited...

              Hello, all Started the day with a brisk early-morning walk and later went to the gym to do my circuit training ... didn't feel quite so deadly as the first day (Tuesday)!; I like the all-women's gym concept; doesn't have that "meat market" feel that unisex gyms sometimes do, although my "meat" is way past its expiration date and don't think anyone would be eyeballing a plump, gray-haired old hippie like me

              Boy, Fitday - especially the food log - really helped me spot a potential deal breaker: Nuts! I love 'em and began adding them this week. Didn't realize how many carbs are in macadamias and cashews ... eek! Hope I didn't stall my weight loss this week ... kind of dreading the scale Sept. 6 :P The Ketostix still read a nice mauve, though, so I guess it's not so bad. I hope!

              Other than that ... same old/same old.

                Macadamias are like the lowest carb nut.. are you subtracting the fiber?

                (Not saying you should freely eat them, just curious!)
