  • September 5 roll call!

It is Friday, Sept 5, and I am NOT muffin-toppin' the jeans I bought a few weeks ago in anticipation of the uniform change.. the 18's that gapped open like 4 inches where my belly would not let them close? And I measured, and I lost another inch in my waist... already! 6 inches in my waistline! WOOHOO!

    Ya'll have a tiggerific day!

Congrats momtomany1! That's awesome! It does feel great when you realize you're getting smaller. I just finished my 2 weeks of induction and am down 10 lbs. So, I reached my first mini goal and I'm off to go purse shopping this afternoon! Yeah! I've decided to stay on induction for one more week. I haven't sat down and done any planning for the next stage yet, so I don't want to move into it just yet. I'm going to sit down and do that this weekend- and be ready for next Friday. Well, I hope everyone has a great day!

Momtomany1, Jaybee, Pokey - HUGE Congrats to you guys! How awesome!

              Morning all!

Started training for my triathlon yesterday - wanted to get an idea on how long it will take to ride 12 miles. Since this is an indoor triathlon, I am assuming the bike will be put in a flat course program - if so, it took me almost 49 minutes to bike 12 miles, keeping my rpm's between 100-120. I don't know if that's good or bad? Right after the ride, I jumped off and jumped on the treadmill to run 3.1 mile - that one took me 32 min - not great - I can work on that one. I just wanted to see if I could get from the bike to the run without wanting to die and I did it!
Today, I am going to swim and lift weights. I think I'll take tomorrow off.

Nothing planned for the weekend - Anyone doing anything fun?

Have a super slammin day all!

                Re: September 5 roll call!

Hi all -- I don't post here often, but I am another STACer. I restarted in January and am now making my way through OWL. I'm not doing it as systematically as I should, but am slowly adding in a few things, while keeping the overall carb count still pretty low. I do need to figure out how high I can go without gaining. For the last month I've been just trying to maintain my weight, while adding in things here and there. Even had a half a piece of bread at a nepalese restaurant the other day. (Along with my steamed spinach. Yum.)

Anyway, I'm now wearing a size 8!! wow. I could call it goal here, but I'd like to lose about 5-8 more pounds.

Hi all. Congrats to all those non-muffin toppers. Things are going fine here. Today I put on a shirt that had been tight on me the last time I wore it and now it's baggy -- really surprised me. Ya'll have a great day!!

                    Re: September 5 roll call!

Good Morning All You Lively STACrs! I am having my second day of easing into the plan, and feeling not alone, with all these glimpses into your lives and challenges. Wow, totally inspiring, some of the activities you all talk about, and congrats to those who are celebrating big losses! Today I have new batteries in my digital scale, and a new-used copy of the DANDR, both purchased yesterday. I've realized that my 20 pound weight gain in the past 6 months has to do with going off my routine in April, when I was laid off from my job and started in to college. So I am planning, planning, planning, how to handle a day at campus so that I have appropriate meals and snacks along. Fun for the weekend? Well, let's see, later today I'm going to an event at the Logger's Playday where guys with loud chainsaws are going to rev it up in various competitive skills exhibitions. Does that sound like fun? LOL x 2! Have a great one...let's see, where is that tape measure?

All of you are so much fun to visit each day, and I'm proud to be part of the STAC!! Today began rather quickly for me ... I got a call from my daughter at 9:10 am to remind me that I was supposed to be at Jordi's daycare at 9:30 am for Grandparent's Day. Needless to say, I put myself in high gear and got there on time and my granddaughter was just beaming! I wore her favorite color, pink, just for her!

So now I'm back home on the computer and I just realized I haven't eaten a bite all day (it's now almost noon). This is not a good thing to do on Atkins. Maybe I'll just have breakfast for my lunch.

Doing much better in my second week of induction, since I started actually tracking my carbs on www.fitday.com. Wonderful tool, if you haven't discovered it. I'm down 3 lbs. this week, so I'm pleased. Hope you have a great weekend, whatever your plans!

Hi all So I just wanted to pop in here and share a lil. Last night i went to a concert. Was a great show BTW. But really what i want to share is the comments people made. I had 4 people tell me how great i look. And not just, "You look great" but pulling me aside and telling me they really wanted to tell me how good i look and that i have lost so much weight and how they almost didn't recognize me stuff. Two of them i barely know. It felt really really good and i just had to share.

Yep!! Praise and recognition are just a couple of the reasons we put ourselves through this sometimes painful process ...

We are all human and have the need to be accepted. Keep up the good work and don't fall off the OWL wagon!!
