  • Woohoo! I resisted taking a bar :)

My youngest had an appt today and we were running a bit late getting ready, I already made the kids lunches and I saw an Atkins bar in the cabinet. I didn't take the easy way out and grab it, I quickly grabbed some stuff from the fridge and made some lunch instead. This is huge for me, when I first started Atkins last year we were busy getting ready to move and the kids had lots of appts, so I ate ALOT of those bars... at least one a day, sometimes 2 - it got to the point last August when we moved and I couldn't find my box of bars - I about lost it! Addicted much?

So, I'm happy to be without the bars, over the addiction, on a clean induction and doing well!

Awesome progress, Karen! It looks like a solid change has taken root in your preferences. I just read your journal and I'm so glad you have the wisdom to seek knowledge outside the mainstream of medicine. Have a great weekend...

Thanks! I just threw out the last one in the cabinet, no need to keep it around!

Way to go Karen, such an empowering moment in your journey! Some of my friends around here are known to pour chemicals like bleach, and ant spray and stuff like that on their "throw a ways"....

We dumped all the stuff on top of it while cleaning out the fridge lol! Then all of the packages from the chicken I was cooking for dinner - it has a new home out in the garbage outside now

Re: Woohoo! I resisted taking a bar

I know that those bars can become a bad habit because last year I started buying one at the store to eat on the way home so I wouldn't binge as soon as I got in the door as I used to do. And it worked for awhile, but then I started buying and eating 2 on the way home and then 3, before I stopped buying them all together because they had become just another addiction. Congrats on doing the same. Way to go.

                  Hey Karen!
Nice job. I found keeping deviled eggs in the fridge is a great way of having something quick to grab. It tides you over until you can fix a real meal and is so good!

Congrats and good for you, Karen! I think those bars taste like ca-ca ... had a couple of bites of one and threw the rest of it out! :P
