  • September 6 Roll Call!

Good Morning everyone!! I hope that everyone has a great Saturday!

Day 12 here... feeling great, even though its rainy and dreary out. Eating some eggs and then we're heading out for a while with the kids, we'll probably take them bowling.

Mornin', luvmybabies, and all Atkineers! It was very nice to step on the scales this morning and see another 2 pounds gone since Monday ... that's 14 pounds total since Aug. 1 Hoping the trips to the gym keep the metab revved up; no doubt plateaus are in my future but right now, I'm enjoying the steady loss. Sure does keep you psyched, doesn't it?

Oh, did you have yours removed? My mother can't hardly eat fats at all with hers out. I hope you get good advice or figure it out!

            Hi Folk's

I'm still here and it's nearly the end of my 4th week, and i'm still 'cookin on gas'.
BUT....... thing's have slowed down a bit this week .......i've been wondering if the pork rind's might have something to do with it, salt content and all that. It's the only thing i can think off.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend Peep's

              Re: September 6 Roll Call!

Morning fellow Stac'ers and all. Just about to go out for my morning walk and it's a surprisingly cool day here so far, super! Tomorrow's my weekly weigh-in and I'm hoping for good news, but I know my clothes are looser this week, so even if the scales won't show a big loss, I'm still on the right track.

To Jaybee007, gallbladder trouble and Atkins being high-fat may not work out. I had gallbladder trouble for 20 years or so (it was "sludgy" but didn't have any gallstones). But I forced myself to suffer through my gallbladder's pain and sickness the first time I did Atkins. It's one of the reasons I had to drop off Atkins 7 years ago, because my doc put me on a straight oatmeal diet to settle down my gallbladder, just like she always did before. Three years ago, it got so bad that my doc decided it was time to have it taken out. It was a quick laproscopic operation (3 little 1/2 inch incisions), went home the same day, was ouchie for about a week, and then I was better than ever before. Wish I'd done it years sooner. So please, talk to your doctor and see what's best for you.

Time to get that one mile walk in for me. Ya'll take care and have a great day!

                Re: September 6 Roll Call!

G'day STACrs, what a great day this is! FLdoodette, what a cute name, I grew up in Florida around Gainesville. Some of my family is still living there, but I'm in what's called "The Great Northwest"...love it, will never leave it! Anyway hope all of you East Coasters stay safe from the big hurricanes. We have volcanoes out here, but they don't have a yearly season! Swordfish, a friend of mine just came back from a 15-day vacation in Scotland, her pictures looked just like I've always imagined, and remind me quite a lot of our area here in Washington, just beautiful. This is a great day b/c it's my third day of easing into the program. I've lost 1.6 pounds since yesterday. Today I plan to measure myself, and get some specifics about meal plans for on the go days. Also I'd like to gussy up my postings with some of the decorative things like you all have. Have a great weekend!

                  Thanks for your replies ladies
I actually have an appt scheduled for mid-october to have it removed via Lap. operation and I can't wait! I had so much success with Atkins the last time around because I didn't feel deprived of anything. It's really difficult now to not eat eggs (I have egg whites), not have bacon, sausages, cheese and mayo. I have to admit that I don't always abide by my gallbladders requests..lol..but I drink hot water with lemon to settle it down afterwards. I'm on day 6 of induction and with a little variation have managed to stay on. Did you have any trouble with going to the washroom (D.) after your operation?

                    Re: September 6 Roll Call!

have you considered doing a liver/gallbladder flush? my sister was thisclose to having hers removed, did the flush, the stones came out, and once the irritation went away (after about a week) she was completely back to normal. she felt instantly better. the gallbladder isn't a superfluous organ. you can live without it, but if you can save it, you should.

still here, and apparently preachy. LOL!!! have an excellent saturday, all! down 1 more lb and 2 inches. I slept in and haven't had breakfast yet, so I'm STARVING. and raring to skate.

I have never heard of a flush! Where do you buy it? Did your sister get an ultrasound afterwards to see that there were no stones left? Please tell me more
